" Tell me this news is fake " Liam mutters coldly
Rylan drags his self up , the pain in his cheek was now double and the room seemed to be spinning.
" It's true and I'm sorry "
Liam scoffs and seats down " when were you planning to tell me , let's not talk about the picture cause I know it's was forced judging from the look on your face "
" Immediately you come back from the Calgary trip , I originally wanted to tell you earlier but Scarlett showed up and I didn't know how your mood will be .... I'm sorry Liam, if you think that I will betray you fine , I understand" Rylan said
He eyes him " you know you deserve more than that punch "
Rylan nods
" come sit we have the Calgary trip to talk about"
Rylan looks at him surprised " you're not angry anymore"
He shakes his head.
" I love you " Rylan said and jumps on his body .
" Hey get off me you weigh a thousand pounds " he said groaning
Liam pushes him off his body and faces the laptop back " so I'll leave R.E in your hands "
The smile on Rylan's face disappeared .
" What do you mean in my hands , I'm coming with you right "
Liam smirks" Wrong , I need you to stay here and look after the company, Scarlett will come with me . "
He gasps in shock " why do I feel like it's not going to be a business trip anymore"
" If you still love your life just shut up " Liam said glaring at him , he does not know why he decided to take Scarlett at all .
Rylan raises his hands up in surrender " ok ,ok I'm just saying"
" Keep it to yourself " Liam mutters not wanting to talk about it again.
R.E COMPANY
Indigo catwalks inside the CEO's office dressed in a professional but sexy way , she gently drops a cup of coffee on Liam's desk .
" I wonder why he is not here yet " she mutters eyeing Scarlett who was seating quietly at her desk , busy with some files .
° I really don't like this lady ° she thought walking towards her
*Clears her throat*
Scarlett looks up placing a fake smile on her face " good morning, any problem"
" Do you know where the CEO is ? " She said scanning her from head to toe
She sighs " he hasn't arrived yet, you can come back later or tell me the message you have lemme convey it to him "
Indigo scoffs " no thank you your help is not needed but let me advice you , if you have any intention of seducing the CEO I'll advise you to drop cause he is forever taken "
" Wow " Scarlett mutters not knowing whether to laugh or get angry
" I've no intention of seducing the boss , I'm here on strict business but if you're having doubts you can speak to him "
She hisses and heads towards the door but it opened and Camilla enters carrying a lunch box flanked by bodyguards.
" Oh madam " she said surprise and bows
Scarlett stood up and bowed respectively too.
Camilla smiles and flips her hair to the other side , her aura was gentle and magnetic, the long white gown she wore gave her that angelic nature .
" Good morning to you *looks around* my hubby is not here "
Indigo smiles and moves closer to her " well madam that is what I'm trying to find out from her "
° what ! ° Scarlett thought surprised, she puts a smile on her face trying to ignore Camilla's piercing gaze on her
" Ma'am he hasn't arrived, I met this office locked , it was Mr Rylan that opened it for me "
She nods eyeing her " go stand outside" she said to the bodyguards and they bow and leave
" Well that's okay" Camilla said seating down on a sofa " indigo come seat next to me , and you dish out this food "
Indigo smirks and seats next to her
" Great " Scarlett mutters and takes the lunch and drops the foods gently on the table... It was more like a buffet , cakes , chicken soup , fried rice with salad and many more salivary dishes .
Camilla smiles and takes a bite from the cake " hmm delicious, indigo have some "
" Thank you ma'am " she said smiling and takes some
" Err Scarlett pass me that chicken soup, dish it out first in that plate and hand it over " Camilla said crossing her legs
Scarlett clenches her fist , Camilla was deliberately provoking her
"I'm not going to give her want she wants " she mutters pouring the chicken soup in a bowl and giving it to her
Camilla smirks and stretches her hand to take the soup , she lets her hand slip and the entire hot soup pour on her laps
" Ahhhh " she screams in pain , the bodyguards run inside
Indigo gasps and try to clean her dress " oh my gosh, ma'am, Scarlett how dare you try to hurt Mrs Reynold"
" What ! " Scarlett mutters trying to process what's happening, one of the bodyguard grab her roughly forcing her to kneel down
" You will remain in this position until boss arrives"
And like it was planned, Liam enters looking confused at what is happening.... Camilla seeing him increased her cries and runs to hug him
" What happened" he said not hugging her back
Indigo steps forward " sir it's her , she intentionally poured the hot soup on Madam's body and it burned her skin "
Scarlett mouth drops open , everything was happening so fast and it was like a dream or a movie to her .
Liam scans Scarlett who was trembling on the floor , he carries Camilla in a princess style and leaves without a word ... The bodyguards follow him immediately.
" Now see how pathetic you look " indigo said smirking and walks out
Scarlett smiles sadly and stands up, this time not a single tear was shed . Crying won't solve her problems and she is done with it .
" No more tears " she mutters and walks back to her seat
ROYALTY'S HOSPITAL
The doctor treated Camilla's scalds saying the wound wasn't serious, she should just apply ointment on it daily .
Liam stared coldly at her as she sat on the hospital bed looking miserable... He knew something wasn't right but he just couldn't put the pieces together, Scarlett isn't that dumb to pour chicken soup on her and she herself wasn't that dumb to fake it .
One of them has to be the dumb one !
Camilla lowers her gaze , staring blankly at the duvet that covered her legs , her two hand was wrapped with bandages and it was very obvious. She felt really pissed off , after taking a huge risk to carry out the plan and this is the result like fuck , Liam didn't even fire her !
" Babe are you angry with me " she said in her cute voice
He leans back on the wall closing his eyes briefly, Camilla swallowed a huge saliva , he is so breathtaking handsome right now !
His hair a little bit tousled, his suit has been discarded somewhere and his white shirt top bottom were open showcasing his sexy Adam apple she badly wanted to bite.
" No not at all " he mutters
The door opens and Evelyn rushes in
" Oh my baby" she wailed seeing the bandages on her hands
Camilla tears up immediately " mother ! "
" How did this happen uh " Evelyn asked hugging her
She sniffs " I just politely asked Scarlett to pass me the chicken soup and sh suddenly dumped it on my body "
Evelyn gasps " Liam ! How can you let that brat do this to your future wife "
He sighs feeling a headache coming" look mom I wasn't there , I'll check the surveillance camera to find out what really happened "
Camilla pales in fear , if he checks the footage and they find out what really happened it won't be funny at all
" What do you mean check " Evelyn snaps " your fiancee has said the truth so why are you still checking the footage instead of carrying out justice "
Liam rolls his eyes trying not to swear in her front " I'll take my leave now , take care of yourself"
He leaves without looking back
Evelyn folds her fist angrily, that stupid son of hers won't listen to what she says at all
" Don't worry darling, I'll handle things myself from now on " she mutters patting her hair .
R.E COMPANY
Crystal is busy photocopying the files she has to submit to the manager, the gossips of the employees about her were loud and clear but they still continue talking acting as if she wasn't there
👤 Isn't she ashamed of herself, like hell still having the nerves to come here
👤 I don't blame her at all , I'm sure this is not the first rejection she's facing
👤 If I was in her shoes, I would have committed suicide long time ago
Crystal groans and faces them " can you just shut up you parasitic worms"
They gasp in shock
" Y'all are free to talk shit about me all day , I don't care at all *smirks* it won't add a dime to your pathetic salaries anyway.. just don't forget to keep it down , your hideous voices are like humming bees sound and they're literally annoying " she said and walks out majestically
She sighs in relief as she head to the Manager's office " it feels so good to shut them up like men ! I like this feeling "
She smiles to herself and arranges the files she was holding
Someone blocks her way looking up to see Rylan staring down at her
" Hi " he said quietly
Crystal scans him from head to toe with total disgust and walks away
He drags her back
" I'll like us to talk "
She looks at him closely and look back and back at him again
" Sorry do I know you ? " .
Rylan looks at her confused, what the hell is she playing at " crystal drop this act , we need to talk "
She clears her throat " Mr kaide this is a work place and you and have nothing in common with each other here so we have absolutely to talk about now if you would pls excuse me I've important things to do "
She catwalks away leaving him stunned
CEO'S OFFICE
Scarlett is trembling slightly on her seat preparing for the worst , she is hundred percent sure that Liam will surely believe his fiancee.
Door opens and Liam walks in calmly like nothing happened at all , he heads to her desk and drops a book on her table.
" Everything you need to know about the trip to Calgary is there , prepare cause we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning "
Scarlett jaw reaches the ground shocked , she is having a hard time processing what he just said, she wasn't getting fired or scolded but her request granted ! .
" Sir I -- " she starts to say but he walks back to his seat like a ghost ...
She shakes her head in disbelief still staring at him as he continues his work .
After work , Scarlett is walking towards the bus terminal humming happily, she can't wait to share the good news with her family (aunt shelby, Aiden and Crystal of course)
It was as if it was in Korean or Indian movies... Two huge men blocked her path knocking her out immediately and jumps inside the van and it zoomed off . Everything happened so quick that even passerbys noticed nothing.
Scarlett groans and opens her eyes , her head was aching seriously because of the hit .. she looks around the abandoned warehouse scared, she wasn't even tied up on the floor but she was too weak to move her feet , they felt heavy like a bag of cement.
" Hello , anyone" she squeaks out
The huge iron gate opens and Evelyn walks in with two huge bouncers
" Well what do we have here , a cheater and ummm a bitch "
Scarlett heart beat increased x10 , she knew she was done for , her bag was far away for her to call the police.
" Mrs Reynold" she mutters looking down
Evelyn slaps her immediately in the face , sending it roughly to the other side . " I don't want to hear my name in your sticking mouth"
Scarlett whimpers, she could not even feel her jaw anymore, her left cheek swelled up asap
" You cheated on my son and pinned another bastard man pregnancy to him , you still crawled back into his life after disappearing for years and want to make things difficult for him and his fiancee" Evelyn said angrily
" I swear I have no intention of coming between the two of the- " another hit met her face and it was a punch this time around, Scarlett coughed out blood seeing double .
Evelyn grabs her roughly by her collar " you dare hurt my daughter in law "
One of the bouncers steps forward holding hot water
She smirks seeing the fear on Scarlett face " yes bitch , this water will be used to design your pretty face "
" Pour it! "
The bouncer goes close to Scarlett ready to empty the bucket of hot water on her face
" No no pls , I'll disappear from your lives never to be seen again, infact I'll submit my resignation letter first thing tomorrow morning and I'll seaze to exist from you people's lives " Scarlett said panting
Evelyn smiles liking the sound of that " now you're talking " she signals the bouncer and he steps back
" Remember your word Scarlett, I want you gone from Toronto first thing tomorrow morning"
She nods her head
" Good "
NXT DAY
Scarlett slips inside Liam's office, her left cheek was swollen and the down part of her lips was bandaged .
She was looking very white even more than snow white , she seats down on her seat, her hands shaking as she turned in her laptop staring at it blankly .
Few minutes later Liam arrives not sparing her a glance and settles on his seat.
Scarlett takes a deep breath and heads to his table, holding her resignation letter tightly almost reluctant to give him .
" Sir " she mutters quietly dropping her resignation letter on his desk
" This is my resignation letter, thank you for allowing me to work with you " she bows her head
Liam eyes widens as he notices the bruises on her cheek down to her lips and the moisture in her eyes , her long lashes couldn't hide it.
He stands up and walks up to her , he lifts her chin up gently making her to look at him . He takes in the pale and tired look of her face , she looked sick and bags were under her eyes ... Tears that threatened to fall from those dreamy eyes of hers wasn't joking.
" Who dare to make you cry flower , don't they know that I'm the only one allowed to do that ? "
