ALEXANDER POV

  My heart flinched in fear at what I saw in the police office, fear overwhelmed me as my whole body was shaking, I didn't want to have the thought that Aurora could be one of the victims. We decided to visit the hospital, where the bodies were kePpt and I was shown one of the bodies that they got the bracelet and the ring from. The body was burnt beyond recognition and I knew that could never be my wife.

    "That's not my wife, am sure of it". I sputtered.

    " There must be a mistake somewhere". Richard said.

   "No, we are sure of it, here is the CCTV footage of when she entered the cab, it was brought to us a while ago," the forensic pathologist said. 

   I looked at the footage and I saw it was Aurora entering the cab, I was still.

    "Oh, no ". Richard panicked.

   " No, no, no, you all are lying, that is not Aurora". I cried out and Richard was trying to calm me down. "I don't believe any of these things! That's not my wife!". I rushed out and Richard followed me behind.

    We got to the car, and Richard stopped me from entering the driver's seat.

    " I will do the driving,".he said and I turned to him.

    "You don't believe that was Aurora right?". I asked and he sighed.

    " Yes, I don't believe it, please let me do the driving". He said and I hesitated for a while and I let him do the driving.

  NARRATOR POV

  Within an hour of the day, the news went viral on air showing Aurora as the victim of the accident, everyone was in great shock.

     "This can't be true". Nina panicked and phoned Richard quickly just to be sure."📞Richard, where are you?".There was a pause "OK, I will be right there". She hung up, picked up her bag, and rushed out.

    "This is not good". Ella said watching the news with the rest of her family.

   " Poor Alex".Juliana said.

   "Was she his girlfriend?". Angel asked.

   " I guess so, both were fond of each other".Juliana said.

   "What a sad story". Mr.Wilson said.

    " I feel for her family," Mrs. Judith said and they sighed sadly.

   ••ALEXANDER'S MANSION••

 

 Everyone was present in Alex's house, But Alex locked himself in his room refusing to come out.

    "Where is Alex?". Mrs. Stella asked looking sad.

   " He has been in his room and refuses to come out".Richard said.

    "This is not good, how is he going to cope with all these"Grandpa said.

 "Tell me, this is not true". Nina interrupted them from behind sobbing.

    " Nina". Richard rushed to her and pulled her into his arms.

    "Please tell me is not Aurora, it can't be Aurora". She sobs and Richard caresses her in his arms.

  Another hour later passed, everyone was seated still wallowing in pain waiting for Alex to come out, just then they heard a loud thud coming out of Alex's room everyone panicked and rushed to the door knocking and ringing the bell for him to respond. No response. Richard walks away to get a spare key and he comes back to open the door. They were stunned to see Alex laying on the floor unconsciously. Another minute passed, and the doctor was done examining him.

    " Doctor, how is my son doing?".Mrs. Stella asked as they were staring at Alex who sat upright on the bed looking sad while staring at one spot.

   "Am sorry, it won't be fine". Doctor Luke said and everyone panicked.

    " How do you mean doctor, will my son be okay?".

   "Am afraid not, he needs to let out his emotions and pain if he did not cry, it would cause some damage". He said and everyone gasped.

   " What damages?".Grandpa asked.

  "Right now he is in great shock, if he doesn't let out his pain from crying it will affect him mentally,                                          Sometimes, the urge to ugly-cry strikes at the worst possible time. Crying is essentially a release valve that rids your body of excess stress and tension, so when a sob-fest is on the horizon and you hold it in, your body's sympathetic nervous system (or fight-or-flight response) kicks into gear. Your brain signals your adrenal glands to release stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. These chemicals boost your heart rate and blood pressure, so if you hold them in while trying not to cry, it can translate into chest tightness and heavy breathing. Suppressing an emotion (in this case, frustration or sadness) actually heightens it and makes you feel worse, So while you might think you're distracting yourself, the stress is actually growing," he added and continued.

"Occasionally resisting the urge to cry is one thing (blubbering mid-meeting probably wouldn't go over well with the boss), but doing so on the regular gives your body's stress response more opportunities to cause trouble. In the short term, it can cause pesky problems such as irritability, anxiety, and poor sleep. But over time, repressing your tears can lead to cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension.... or even cancer". He explained and everyone panicked.

    "Please doctor, I don't want anything to happen to my son". Mrs. Stella sobs.

    " Please tell us what to do".Richard said.

    "Make him cry, if he remains like this for days, it will be a huge problem". he said.

    " Sure, Doctor, we will do our best". Richard reassured him.

    "Ok, I will take my leave". He said and walked away.

   " Son, please don't do this to me, look at your mother and let your emotion out". She said.

  The next day, everyone was doing everything possible to make Alex cry, but it was in vain. Elizabeth came over feigning tears as she sat next to him on the bed holding his hand tenderly.

    "Alex, please let out your pains, if you remain like this, it won't be worst". Elizabeth said.

    " Alex, please". Mrs.Stella said soberly.

    "Aurora's grandmother is feeling the same thing, she has refused to stop crying since she heard of her granddaughter passing". Richard said.

   " This is not good, how do we make Alex cry". Grandpa worries.

     "Alex, please, for the sake of everyone, let it out". Elizabeth said." I promise never to leave your side, please".

    ••Aurora apartment••

   Everyone came to sympathize with Aurora's grandmother, she was crying nonstop with Nina by her side sobbing as well.

    "Please granny, stop crying, Aurora will not like it if she sees you like this". Nina said.

    " I want my granddaughter, please bring Aurora to me". She sobs bitterly.

    "Everything will be fine granny, please stop crying". 1st neighbor said.

    " Yes, God knows best".2nd neighbor said and they continued to console her.

   "Aurora is not supposed to be dead, let me take her place, please bring my grandchild for me, I can't leave without her". 

   " Granny, please!". Nina sobs holding her firmly.

  Richard was doing everything possible to help Alex let out his emotions. he paid a visit to the doctor.

   "Alex is not responding to anyone, he is just still not talking or even eating, he is just traumatized". Richard said sadly.

   " I understand Richard, but you have to try harder to make him cry".

   "How do I do that doctor? We have tried our best, but is not working".

   " Then blamed him for the course of Aurora's death". Doctor Luke said and Richard was confused.

   "I don't understand".

   " Provoke him, make him angry, blame him for the course of her death, do something to ignite his anger".

   "Will it work?".

    " Not fully, but it has seventy percent chances". He said and Richard sighed.

   Elizabeth was in her room celebrating her victory.

    "Finally! I won! he is mine to keep now". She said happily."Just wait and see Alex, I will shower you with love that Aurora couldn't give you". She fell on the bed happily. "You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng" " At last, I will leave you for a while to moan your wife, but after that, you will be mine forever!". She said and then someone knocked on her door.

   "Elizabeth, are you in there?". Ella asked from the doorstep.

   " Yes, is there a problem?".

   "Is time for dinner, everyone wants you down". 

   " Ok, I will be right there".

  "Don't stay too long". She said and walked away.

 Elizabeth stood up from the bed and dress her hair in the mirror before she rushed out to join them in the dining room.

   Meanwhile, Nina was sobbing quietly in her room as she was staring at the photo she took with Aurora on their first outing.

   " Please Aurora, come back, is been so bored without you".She sniff." This isn't the way we plan to say goodbye, please don't go, please tell me this is a prank". She sobs bitterly.
