 NARRATOR POV

    The Party begins with different special invitee with their costume and a mask covering their faces. The ladies were in their ball gowns while the men were in suits, the party was booming lively as Mrs. Stella was welcoming the guests in. Everyone was drinking and chatting, not too long after Alex entered hand in hand with Nora and his mother rushed to welcome them.

     "I am so happy to see you two together ". She said and hugged Nora. Alex sighed tiredly at her." Your parents are here already".

    "OK, I will go say hi to them". She excused herself and walked away.

    " Why is your face like that?".

   "How do you see how my face is, I am wearing a mask".Alex said.

    " I am your mother, I can feel your mood".

    "Fine, whatever, let me go say hi to my friends". He said and walked away while his mother returned to welcome the guests in.

   Not too long after, Richard and his family enter with their mask on.

    " Wow, I thought is just a little party, look at how rowdy it is". Ella said.

    "Me too". Juliana said. " Is such a shame that Angel is not here, she loves parties like this". She added.

   "Don't say that, she is still a minor, a party like this is not for her, at least she is on holiday with her grandmother". Mr. Wilson said.

    " Your Dad is right, let's go". Mrs. Judith said.

    "You guys go ahead". Richard said and they turned to him.

 

    " Aren't you coming in with us?".Juliana asked.

    "No, I join you all inside, I'm waiting for someone". he said.

   " Let me guess, Nina, right?". Ella said and they smiled knowingly at him.

    "You guess right, now if you must excuse me ". He said.

   " Sure, let's go".Elizabeth said and they went inside while Richard stayed behind checking his wristwatch.

   "She should be here by now". he said.

   Inside the party, Alex was scanning around for Aurora and wondered why she was not there yet.

    " What's taking her so long? I hope she is not angry with me anymore". he sighed and got interrupted from behind.

    "Are you expecting someone?". Elizabeth asked and Alex turned to her.

    " Hey, you are here". he said and they smiled at each other.

    "Yeah, I just arrived a few minutes ago ".

   " Am glad you could make it ".

   " And I am glad to be here". She smiles.

   Meanwhile, Nora has been staring at them and she became envious.

    "Why is that lady smiling like that with him? Do they know each other?". She wonders.

    " Are you jealous of them?". Charles whispered from behind and she turned to him surprisedly.

    "Charles? What are you doing here?".

    " What? Am I not invited to a party?".

   "What if they recognize you?". She asked curiously.

    " They won't, is a costume party, no one will notice me". He said and they smiled at each other.

   "Ok, but I am glad that you are here, it won't be boring anymore".

   " Yeah, you look so pretty in this dress".

     "I do?".

    " Yes, I love it".

    "Thank you". They smile at each other. A waiter came and served them." Let's cheers to love". They hit their glasses together and drank from the wine.

  Richard was still waiting patiently for their arrival. Alex came over to see him standing outside the entrance

     "What is keeping these two?". Alex asked and Richard sighed.

   " I don't know, but I hope they are fine". he said and they sighed. just then a cab stopped in front of the building, Aurora and Nina stepped out looking gorgeous in their amazing gown. Richard and Alex couldn't help but drool over their women. "Wow". he said and they were all staring at each other.

   " Which of these two is my prince charming?". Nina asked staring confusedly at the two men standing by the door entrance with their masks on.

    "I have no idea, they both look the same, but..." Aurora said and they moved closer to them and then smiled as they felt their familiar fragrance and their aura.

    "My prince charming, did I keep you waiting". Nina asked smiling lovingly at Richard as he took off his mask.

    " I was worried why you girls were taking so long". He said and pulled her into his arms. Alex and Aurora stare at them to see how lovingly they are.

    "Aren't we going to do the same?". Alex asked smiling and Aurora scoffed and went inside. He sighed after her.

     " She is still angry with you". Nina said and pulled away from Richard's arms."Am sorry I have to go, my best friend needs me". She said and rushed inside.

    "Seriously,". Richard said and then turned to Alex staring hard at him.

    " What, why are you giving me that look?". Alex asked staring confusedly at him.

    "You should do everything possible to settle things with Aurora because I don't want to miss my chances with my woman today".

    " How is that my problem?".

    "It is your problem, I can't be with my woman because she will be all over Aurora trying to make her happy because someone happens to make her angry, so make settlement  with her, so I can have a beautiful moment with my woman". He said unlikely and went inside.

    " Now what". he sighed tiredly and went inside. 

   Everyone was making merry at the party as the cool music was going on.

    "Gosh! I hate costume party".Aurora said.

      " Me too". Ella said.

    "Why? I think it's fun". Juliana said as she sipped from her drink.

    " Easy for you to say". Ella said.

    "Juliana is right, I love costume parties". Nina said.

    " Is too boring with boring music, the last time I encountered one was during my school days, gosh, it was a disaster". Aurora said and they laughed.

    "How do you mean?". Juliana asked.

    " Well, it was fun at first with music booming in the air, not until it was ruined by one bully in our school who set the whole place on fire trying to perform some stupid fire magic". She said and they laughed.

    "Seriously, was he trying to impress someone?". Ella asked laughing.

    " Yeah, and that person happens to be me". Aurora said.

    "Wow, that was funny". Nina said.

    " You should have gone for it". Juliana tease.

    "Nah, that guy was a Psychopath". She said and they laughed. Just then, Mrs.Stella speaks on the mic bringing everyone's attention to the stage.

     " Thank you all so much for coming, it's a great honor to have you all here, I and my family welcome you all here to our masquerade party". She continued and a picture was shown on the big screen on the stage. "As you all can see on the screen, this was our masquerade party is being done in our family from age to age". She continued talking and illustrating to them.

    " This is beautiful". Elizabeth said.

    "Yeah, you are right". Mrs.Judith replied and they went mute for a while." I was mainly to ask you". She said breaking the silent mood.

    "What aunt?". She asked.

    " I thought you liked my son, Richard". She said and Elizabeth giggled.

    "Yes Aunt, I love Richard, but only as a friend and a brother".

    " Really?".

    "Yes, I know you were expecting something different between us, but Richard loves someone else which you all know about".

    " I know and I am not against that, I was just worried about how you are going to feel".

    "You don't have to think like that, I never had that feeling for Richard and I am happy he is with someone else". She said.

    " But what about you? Do you have someone you like?". She asked and Elizabeth smiled as her eyes saw Alex standing beside Nora and both were so focused on what was showing on the screen.

    "Yes, Aunt".

    " Really? Who is it?".

    "Someone you all know, he was snatched from me, but he will be mine starting from today". She said and Mrs. Judith stared confusedly at her.

    " I don't get you".

    "You won't understand aunt, but time will tell, just put your mind at rest and enjoy the party". 

    "OK, if you say so". 

   They continued to listen to Mrs. Stella's words until ended and everyone clapped cheering her up.

    " Thank you, let the party begin". She said and climbed down from the stage as everyone was congratulating her.

    "Is time to shake the table". Elizabeth smirked and sipped from her wine. 📞" Turn it on". she said on the phone and suddenly the light went off and everyone was wondering what was going on."Enjoy everyone". She sips her drink.

   Everyone turns to the screen to see a video of Nora and Charles's discussion. Nora froze and everyone was in great shock to see what was going on, the drink she was holding fell off her hand.

    (Why do you look troubled?". Charles asked immediately after he saw her enter his bedroom)

    ("Am worried Charles". she said as she sat down on the bed. Charles pushed closer to her and wrapped his arms around her.)

    (" Why are you worried? Did something happen? Did anyone find out that you are not pregnant anymore?". he asked curiously and Nora sighed.)

   ("I just hope not, but I think someone knows something about us, I have been restless, it been a month and some weeks since I lost my baby, am scared of what will happen, I can't keep pretending, I need to get pregnant again".)

     (" You are right, but we have been having s!x without protection, I wonder why you have not gotten pregnant like the first time".)

    ("I seriously don't know, I guess we need to see the doctor". She said sadly.)

    ("Sure, I will book an appointment with Dr. tomorrow".)

    (" Please do, am getting fed up, I need this plan to end once and for all".)

    ("You don't have to worry about it, everything will be fine". He kissed her forehead and cuddled her tight in his arms.)

      

   There was a great shock on everyone's face, the light went back on and they started murmuring against each other. Alex turns angrily at her.

   👥"What? How can she frame an innocent man"

👤"She is pure wicked.

    "Everything was a lie?". Alex asked angrily.

     " Please Alex let me--". She got interrupted.

     "Don't!". he yelled. " That night, did you drug me?". He asked and Nora hesitated to speak."Speak before I strangled you with my bare hands".

    "Y--yes". She sobs and everyone gasps. " Am sorry, I did it because I love you".

    "You lair! You are disgusting". He said angrily and tried to calm his anger. " You...". He sighed and walked away.

     "Alex!". She cried and Mrs. Stella rushed to her angrily as she landed a hot slap across her face. Everyone gasped.
