The Cursed Alpha - Episode 43

“Cursed? What do you mean by that, Aunty B?” Harper's eyes widened in shock.

Looking around, Aunt Barbara lowered her voice, and said. “I need you to swear that you won't tell a soul about what I'm going to tell you.”

“I swear it on my life.” Harper snapped, and sat on the couch opposite Barbara.

Taking a deep exhale, Aunt Barbara continued. “My nephew is…. He is cursed, and there's absolutely no way that girl is his mate.”

“What?” She flung her eyes open in astonishment. “Aunt Barbara, I'm trying hard to understand you, but I just can't wrap that around my head. Cursed, how? He doesn't look sick to me.” Harper chipped in.

Barbara scoffed. “He will die young just as the Alphas before him.”

“That's not possible. He's the great Alpha of the Cold Moon Pack.” Harper smiled confused.

Aunt Barbara continued. “Over the past five generations of Alphas, have you known any to live their lives freely or get a mate?”

“Oh, my God! You're right. I thought it was just a rumor and nothing serious.” Harper freaked out.

“We're running out of time. There's a dark mark on his arm, it makes him transform into a beast at night. The more that keeps going on, the more in danger his life becomes. It shortens his life. No one in the pack knows about this except his family. And before I say a word you have to promise me that this would not be heard by anyone else, do you understand me?”

Nodding her head rapidly, Harper replied. “Oh, of course, Aunt Barbara. You know you can tell me anything. I promise you that no one would hear about this except you and me.”

“Good. The curse is actually a generational curse. It started from Atlas's great-grandfather who happened to be my grandfather. All I can disclose to you is that it has something to do with the dragons. Ever since then, the generation of the alphas became cursed. And, it is said that only by finding their fated mates will the curse be broken. Well, unfortunately none of the alphas ever found their fated mates.” Aunt Barbara explained.

Staggering backwards, Harper's mouth widened in shock. Who would have thought that the alpha was cursed all this while? She thought of Atlas saying that the “maid” was his fated mate. “So that was all a lie? That slave is in no way Alpha Atlas's mate, huh?” She asked aloud.

“Exactly. She can never be his mate because none of the Alpha's has ever been mated to anyone, especially not a low breed servant. I will find a way to push that girl out of our pack, and then you can become the Luna that you are supposed to be. Getting a mate doesn't matter anymore, I want you to give him an heir” Aunt Barbara patted her cheek, and she smiled broadly.

With a faint smile, she thought. “Now, I can be rest assured that he will be mine.”

Then, she frowned her face leaving Barbara confused. “Why do you look so sad? Don't you want to be Luna anymore?”

“You seem to have forgotten something, Aunt Barbara. He doesn't want me. He made that perfectly clear when he rejected me in public. You don't know how much others look up to me, and what he did just dragged my image to the mud.” Harper lamented bitterly.

Aunt Barbara smirked, and opened her black purse. “That won't be a problem.” She brought out a small bottle out of her bag, and dropped it on the table. “This is a very potent aphrodisiac. You don't have to worry about how he is going to take it, I'll put it in his wine at dinner tomorrow. All you have to do is to go to his room at night, and he won't be able to resist you.”

“Uhm… Aunt Barbara, didn't you mention that he usually turns into a beast at night, huh?” Harper scratched her head.

Upon hearing that, Barbara smirked. “I'll add something to his wine. It will make him not transform. But you have to be very fast because it will only be potent for 1 hour.” Aunt Barbara replied.

“I think I can handle that.” Harper smirked mischievously.

Later that evening, it was already dark. Harper creaked the door open. She was dressed in her nightwear.

Staring around to make sure that no one was following her, she sneaked out of the house. At the balcony, she met a man who was putting on a hood and glasses.

Whispering, she handed a picture to him and said. “You know what to do. I want you to find out every single detail about her. Make sure you report to me as soon as possible. The more the information you gather, the higher the pay.”

“You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Consider it done.”

With a malicious smirk, she nodded before walking into the house again.

Meanwhile, Alpha Marcus paced around the room, mumbling some inaudible words for himself.

Natalie, who couldn't stand the sight, asked him. “What is going on, Marcus? You make me dizzy with the way you keep pacing around. Since we got back from the conference, you have not been yourself. Are you okay?”

“Okay? Do I look okay to you, Natalie? Should I even be okay?” He freaked out.

Angrily, Natalie snapped at him. “What does that even mean, Marcus? Our freaking wedding is in a week's time, and you look like someone preparing for a funeral instead of a wedding. Why do I sense that you are not even excited about it?”

“Natalie, don't you think it's right for us to get Allison back to the pack?” He asked.

Feeling like she was pierced with a sword through the heart, Natalie raised her brows and stared hard at Marcus. “What? This is about Allison, huh?”

“I can't believe it. Allison chose that jerk over me, and over her pack. That's the height of it.” He ranted angrily.

Yanking the duvet off her body, Natalie jerked up from the bed. “I hate you, Marcus.” With that, she stormed out of the room angrily.
