Deluxe's POV

I sat nervously in my seat, fidgeting with my fingers as I awaited our arrival. A rush of fear coursed through me when a hand rested on my lap, causing me to turn and meet the familiar gaze of Alexander, the person I loved deeply.

My anxiety momentarily eased when he offered a small smile, but it quickly returned as he questioned why I was so nervous.

"I'm scared," I confessed, staring down at our intertwined fingers. My breath came out shaky, betraying my unease.

"But I'm here," he reassured me.

"That's exactly why I'm scared," I responded, shifting my gaze away from our hands and scanning the plane.

When Alexander suggested we go to Mexico, I was initially thrilled. However, upon further reflection, I realized the potential for disaster. My father had an intense hatréd for Italians, to the point where he became a different person when discussing them. Having Alexander near him would only fuel his anger, and I knew that both my father and Alexander in the same vicinity was a recipe for disàster.

It was a catastrophe waiting to happen.

"My dad might do something awful to you, or you might retaliate, and I'll lose someone I care deeply about," I explained, my voice filled with worry.

Alexander wrapped his arm around my waist, lifting me onto his lap. I sighed softly, finding comfort in his warm and familiar embrace.

"Well, for your sake, I'll do my best not to hàrm him," he offered, attempting to reassure me.

I lifted my head from his chest, giving him a scolding look. "I don't want you to just try, I need you to promise me you won't húrt him."

"Love, you know I would do anything for you, right?" he asked, catching me off guard. I nodded, a little confused. "If you don't want me to húrt him, can I at least teach him a lesson?"

"Alex," I chastised him.

He rolled his eyes with a little sad pout on his lips which made him look ridiculously adorable. "Okay. What about one bullét in his leg?"

"Alex."

"Fine. What about just one punch?"

"Alexander, you can't lay a hand on my dad, not at all," I firmly stated.

"But I just want to make him understand how much he's húrting húrts, even if it's just a little," he defended himself. I made an attempt to get up from his lap, but he held me firmly, refusing to let go. "Alright, I won't húrt him. Just please don't get up."

"In three hours, we'll arrive in Mexico, and I haven't even told my dad that I'm coming home, let alone about us being together. Alexander, I need my dad to accept you as my boyfriend," I pleaded.

"And if he doesn't, maybe I should just shoót him," he quipped.

"Alexander!" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"What? If he can send you all the way to Italy to make me fall for you, then why can't I shóot him, Alice?" he replied irritably, his grip on my waist tightening. "Sorry. I meant, Deluxe."

I looked up at him, noticing the distress in his eyes. They were burdened with worry and exhaustion, and it pained me to think that I was the cause of it.

"I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry," he said, his voice cracking. He cleared his throat and gently ran his fingers through my ponytail. I sighed, wrapping my arms around him and resting my head on his chest. "I promise I won't cause your father any hàrm."

I lifted my head and pecked his cheek. A low chuckle escaped his lips as he leaned in to peck me on the lips. The innocent peck lingered, refusing to separate.

"I love you more than you'll ever know," he murmured, planting kisses on my lips and neck. Pleasure, contentment, and relief filled me, causing a sigh mixed with a moan to escape my mouth.

"I love you too, my love," I replied.

He beamed at me before pulling me into a tight embrace that lasted for at least ten minutes, as I ended up dozing off in his arms.

...

The plane finally landed at the airport, and Alexander and I walked out hand-in-hand. I refused to let go of his hand, fearful that something might happen to him.

My father had eyes everywhere, and I was certain he was aware of my return. He was a tyrañt, fearéd by most, if not all, except his family.

I was only five years old when I witnessed my father take someóne's life. A year later, still haunted by the sight of that much bloód flowing from someone's héad, I watched him repeatedly stàb another person without a trace of remorse. By the time I turned ten, he forced me to start self-defense classes and training on how to handle guñs and knivés.

My father had traumatizéd my childhood with imagés no child should see, but he believed he was preparing me for the harsh realitiés of the world we lived in. Despite it all, I loved him unconditionally. I couldn't bear the thought of losing him. I knew my father's violeñt tendencies, and I also knew Alexander's.

This encounter had the potential to be disastroús, resulting in bloodshéd and the lóss of someone.

The large black, castle-like gate opened as the car approached. My grip tightened on Alexander's hand, anxiety and panic washing over me. As the car came to a stop, I scanned the premises I hadn't seen in nearly four months.

"Babe, please don't do anything to anger him, okay?" I pleaded for what felt like the hundredth time, hoping to erase any dangeróus thoughts in his head.

A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips, and he casually shrugged his shoulders. "What if he just, you know, gets húrt without me touching him?"

My mouth dropped open, and my eyes widened at his words. But before I could respond, he stepped out of the car. I allowed my mind to ponder his intentions as I followed suit.

As we made our way to the front door, my unease grew. I hesitated for a moment before pushing them open. To my surprise, they swung open easily, but a wave of fear coursed through me.

Wait. This is weird.

Something was definitely off.

Why did the gate open by itself? Why were there no guards? And now, the door was opening from the outside, contrary to what was customary.

This was not normal.

"What's wrong, Kitten?" Alexander asked, concerned.

"This is a trap," I whispered, as if on cue. Gúns were pointed at us from every angle, aimed directly at Alexander.

A chilling smile spread across Alexander's face as he tilted his head to the side.

The smile sent shivers down my spine, and I struggled to tear my gaze away from him to locate the source of the voice. "So, you finally decided to grace us with your presence," the voice taunted. "Won't you come and give your big brother a hug?"

When I looked back at Alexander, he appeared bored. I gripped his hand tighter, desperately trying to grab his attention.

"Why are they all standing there like statues? Why won't they shóot? Don't they have enough bulléts? Should I offer them some?" Both my brother, Damon, and I shared a look of confusion as we stared at Alexander, as though he were an alien. "I have a surprise for you, brother-in-law," he announced, taking just six steps to reach my brother. The crazy smile remained on his face as he reached into his pocket and pulled out what looked like a remote control. "If I press this button, the entire house goes boom, and there will be no survivórs." Alexander threw his head back, laughing hysterically. "How do you like my surprise?"
