The  Mafia's Ruination - Episode 34

Author's POV

It was 8:29 PM, and Alice found herself in her studio, engrossed in her painting.

Throughout the day, she had dedicated her time to her artwork, taking short breaks in between.

After days of meticulous work, she had finally perfected her latest piece—a stunning portrait of a man resembling Alexander.

In the painting, the man walked towards the beach, clad in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, with a little girl in his arms and a woman by his side holding a young boy. The children wore joyful smiles, while the faces of the man and the woman remained hidden, their gazes fixed on the beach.

Alice intended to present this painting to Alexander as a second gift, complementing the first one that had added vibrancy to his room.

As she immersed herself in her creative space, the studio door creaked open, revealing Alexander's familiar face.

A smile instinctively spread across Alice's face as he embraced her. "I didn't expect you to come home early," she remarked, reciprocating the hug.

"You don't like it?" Alexander questioned.

Alice pulled away slightly, her expression filled with surprise. "No, no, I love it," she reassured him. "I'm just taken aback, that's all."

"Hmm," he hummed softly, pulling her back into his arms and inhaling the scent of her hair. "I am so tired."

"Go freshen up, I will whip up something for you," she replied, running her fingers through the hair on the back of his head.

"Hmm," he hummed again. "I like this better."

She immediately sensed that something was wrong. Yes, Alex enjoyed hugging her, but he seemed unusually clingy now.

"Are you okay? Did something happen at work? Did your dad come?" she asked, throwing concerned questions at him while pulling his body away from hers to look at his face.

"Yes, I'm fine. Nothing happened, I'm just tired," he reassured her.

"You sure?" she asked, caressing his face.

"Very sure," he replied with a smile. His eyes slowly drifted away from her concerned gaze towards the painting, but she held his head.

"What did you draw? Why don't you want me to see it? Is it for me?"

She groaned, rolling her eyes. "You spoiled the surprise. It is for you. Do you like it?"

"Of course, if you're the one who painted it, then I love it," he remarked, studying the painting. "Who are the man, the kids, and the lady?"

"They are a family," she replied simply. "You mentioned having a daughter as your first child and a son as your second, so ta-da, here's your family's painting. I can paint another one if you create your own family."

"It is nice," he said, appreciating the artwork. "But I doubt I'll find someone like you."

"Don't try to find someone like me," Alice advised, shaking her head in disapproval. "Find your own lady. After all, no one is quite like me."

"You're right about that. You are one of a kind," he agreed, his gaze fixed on the painting. "I'll go freshen up. I'll see you in a few minutes."

Alice nodded and watched him leave. As she looked around the studio, she made sure everything was in its proper place before exiting the room.

Immediately upon reaching the kitchen, she diligently washed her hands before commencing any tasks. Blair and Elizabeth had already retired to bed, and she didn't want to disturb them. It took no less than ten minutes to complete her work, and she proceeded upstairs to summon Alexander.

However, upon entering his room, she discovered that he was not there.

Anticipating his whereabouts, she made her way towards the back door, knowing he would likely be at the swimming pool.

The path from the back door to the pool was adorned with tiled flooring, which complemented the subdued lighting.

The night air was filled with a gentle breeze, hinting at the possibility of heavy rainfall.

As Alice ventured outside, her hair danced in various directions, occasionally obstructing her vision.

With each step she took towards the expansive rectangular pool, she suddenly halted in her tracks.

Her mesmerizing emerald eyes glistened with admiration as she beheld Alexander gracefully swimming in the pool.

He emerges from the pool, pushing his wet and sticky hair away from his equally damp face. With his attractive appearance and a glistening body, Alexander has a way of captivating her without even trying.

She doesn't mind though, as she knows he wànts her just as much as she wànts him.

The water droplets on his body make her envious, wishing she could stay on him like they do. His well-sculpted physique acts like a magnet, drawing in women, including herself, with just a glance.

Exiting the pool, he walks over to a reclining chair and grabs a glass of wine from a nearby table.

Alice remains in her spot as he takes a sip before diving back into the water.

Finally, her feet obey her and she walks towards him, gracefully bending down on the tiled floor. "Enough swimming, mermaid," she playfully remarks.

He swam to the edge of the rectangular pool, his captivating eyes locked with hers, and a mesmerizing smile gracing his lips.

She couldn't help but find every part of his body beautiful. He seemed perfect in every way, as if he were God's favorite creation.

"And why should I come out, minx?" he questioned, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.

She couldn't resist his smirk; it gave him an intriguing Màfia-like aura mixed with a touch of mischiéf. She shrugged her shoulders, contemplating what to say to him.

His piercing gray eyes remained fixed on hers as he playfully toyed with his tongue in his mouth.

Before she could respond, he extended his hand towards her. She looked at it curiously, then back at him, furrowing her brow. "You want me to come out of the pool, right?" he asked, and she nodded, reaching out to take his hand. "Good girl," he remarked.

Oh, if only he knew how much she wanted to be a bàd girl for him in that moment. As she attempted to pull him out, he unexpectedly fell back into the pool, taking her with him. She gasped for air, quickly resurfacing.

She gasped for air, lifting her head out of the water. Without hesitation, she delivered a punch to his shoulder, causing her pain while he laughed. "That's not funny, Alexander," Alice grumbled, pouting sadly.

His laughter ceased, and his gaze shifted to her lips, his demeanor changing.

The playful atmosphere dissipated, replaced by a glimmer of desire in his eyes.

Nervously, Alice swallowed and bit her lip, her eyes locked with his, awaiting his next move. Her anticipation shimmered in her gaze.

Alexander noticed and drew her closer, their wet bodies pressing against each other, intensifying the tension. "What do you want, Kitten?" he whispered, his voice barely audible, brushing against her ear. Before she could respond, the sky rumbled, and rain began to pour.

Gently tucking her damp hair behind her ears, he plants a tender kiss on her forehead before guiding her to sit on the cool tiled floor, her legs still immersed in the water.

Despite the cold rain cascading down upon her, it fails to quell the bubbling anticipation within her. She rises to her feet before Alexander can, realizing that today, like any other day, will likely follow the same pattern.

He effortlessly teases her, and yet nothing ever transpires beyond that. His teasing prowess never fails to captivate her, leaving her yearning for something more that may never come to fruition.
