“Marcus, let's not be unprofessional savages here. I think you are scaring my mate.”

Alpha Atlas's domineering, cold voice struck Marcus so hard. Arching his brows, he asked. “Your what?”

“My mate.”

Upon saying that, Atlas held my hand while my eyes grew in shock. Honestly, I never expected that, but I kept my calm.

With a smirk, Alpha Atlas continued. “Did I not mention that when introducing her to you, guys? Oh, pardon my manners then.”

Gritting his teeth in annoyance, Marcus banged his fist on the table, scaring the hell out of me. Oh, but his dear Natalie held his hand, and said. “Get a hold of yourself, Marcus.”

Marcus's eyes were already changing colors, and I quickly sprang up from the chair I was seated in, and yelled. “Marcus, no!”

Immediately, Alpha Atlas got up, took off his suit and threw it at Beta Jackson, then said. “Let him bring it on.”

Glaring hard into each other's eyes, they both howled loudly and transformed into a black and white massive wolves respectively.

The fight was getting fierce, and I couldn't stand it anymore. Shouting on the top of my house, I said. “Stop it, you both. If you don't stop it, I'll leave immediately.”

They gradually transformed back to their human forms, panting heavily. I exhaled deeply, shaking my head. I was terrified this time.

Without sparing another glance at them, I rushed out to the restroom. I needed time to get myself back in one piece. It was supposed to be a conference get-together, now this?

I washed my face before leaving the restroom. Furthermore, I managed to sit on the chair in the lobby. Tears circulated in my eyes as I bowed my head.

The approaching footsteps made me raise my head. I saw Marcus walking towards me. He cleared his throat, and said. “I hate that I found you just to make you cry.”

Wiping off my tears, I sniffed hard and replied. “You found me, really?”

“Allison, you don't understand. I never stopped looking for you.” He said.

I snapped at him with sarcasm. “Oh, bullshit!”

“I never stopped.”

“Bullshit! You kicked me out of the only place I called home, and you still expect me to believe that you were actually looking for me, huh? Do I look like a toddler to you, Marcus?” I cracked up.

Bending over to me, Marcus continued. “Allison, you don't understand. I might be with Natalie, but I've spent countless sleepless nights thinking about you. And it made me realize how much I love you.”

His last statement made me burst into laughter. I couldn't hold it back any longer. I scoffed. “How much you love me, yeah? Can you hear yourself right now? You treated me like trash, I made life so miserable for me. Do you really expect me to believe that you ever liked me?”

“I hate to admit this, but I was too proud to show you how much I loved you.” Marcus snapped.

“Marcus, let's just pretend that we don't know each other for these three days. I obviously have a mate now_ a second chance mate after you rejected me on my 18th birthday. Thanks to the Moon Goddess.” I said, and I got up from the couch.

Marcus grabbed my wrist, and pleaded. “Please, just a second chance. I'd like to make things right.”

“I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be able to believe any word that comes out of your mouth again, Marcus. Besides, you already have a Luna… Natalie is there for you.” I glanced at his engagement band on his finger, and snorted. “I see you already have a ring on your finger. I heard you guys will be getting married next month. Congratulations in advance. The door is that way.” I half yelled before walking away.

With disappointment written all over Marcus's face, he gradually took off that ring from his finger. I kept mumbling as I walked down the hallway.

Well, I was snapped out of my thoughts when Beta Jackson halted me, and said. “I've been searching all over you. Here is a key to your room.”

“Thank you.” I took the key, and walked away. I still needed to look for Atlas, at least, I needed an explanation for him saying I was his mate at the conference room.

“Where have you been?” A voice came from behind, and I turned around. It was Atlas, thankfully. “Alpha Atlas, I'm confused. What exactly do you mean when you said that I was your mate?” I narrowed my eyes.

He shook his head. “I meant exactly what you heard.”

“How the f*** Is that possible? I mean…”

He interrupted, by placing a kiss on my cheek, making me shiver in shock. “You're my mate, Allison. I know you don't feel the bond yet, but you will soon_ hopefully.”

“I was mated to Marcus, but he rejected me. Why would I have a second mate? I haven't heard of that before.” I shook my head.

He continued. “I can feel the bond, Allison. I just can't wait for you to reciprocate, but you are my mate. I would rather not see you with other guys because I can get so jealous, Allison.”

I felt tickled in the ear, but I shrugged. “Yes, sir.” With that, I walked away grinning from ear to ear.

Later that day, I was in the room alone. Of course, I don't want to go out for fresh air because I wouldn't want to bump into Marcus.

The doorbell rang twice, and I got up from the bed to get the door. My eyebrows twitched in shock on seeing Natalie standing in front of my door.

I rolled my eyes at her, and asked. “What in mercy's name are you doing here, Natalie?”

“I hate that I'm being ordered around, but your new mate… or should I say new catch wants to see you in room 235. He wants you to go there blindfolded. Who knows the little game you both are playing?” She snorted.
