“Is that all? You did all this because you wanted to come along with me for the Pack conference?” Alpha Marcus snorted.

Natalie rolled her eyes. “You and I know that you don't grant my wishes until I force my ways into making you promise me.”

“Fine! You can come with me. For now, get lost.” He replied, emotionless, as she walked away.

Immediately, he picked up a book, flipping the chapters, he brought out a picture from it, and sighed. “Where exactly did you go, Allison?”

The picture was old, and he had kept it for a long because he had always had feelings for Allison, even though he never showed it. He placed the picture back into the book and faced the desktop in front of him.

**

Walking down the hallway, I was still lost in thoughts of what really transpired between the Alpha's half brother Jordan and me.

I was smacked out of my thoughts by a voice. At the same time, goosebumps ran down my spine immediately someone tapped my back. “Hey, you're the new girl, right?”

My jaw dropped the moment I saw him. The urge… it came again, and this time it was stronger than it used to be. It was Jordan, smiling broadly at me. “J… Jordan?”

He smiled at me. Oh, my God! My heart was beating so fast, and I couldn't resist anymore. I held his hand, and smiled right back at him. “You look so surprised, are you okay?”

“Yes… Yes, I'm fine. I didn't know you would recognize me. I mean, we only met once.” Holding his hand alone made me feel at peace.

God! What's wrong with me? Why can't I control the attraction that I have for him? Is he my fated mate? But I got rejected by my mate, would I have a second chance mate? Why him?

He held me too, and patted my cheek… Of course, my cheeks turned red. I couldn't help but blush. “Of course, Allison. There is no way I won't ever recognize you.”

My eyes widened a little. Did he call me by my name? How did he…? “You know my name, huh?”

“I never stopped thinking of you, Allison. Of course, I had to research about you. From the information I got, that was how I knew your name and I know that you are new in the Pack.” He replied.

My cheeks flushed. The feeling is actually mutual. “Really? Well, you're right. I'm new here, and I don't really know many people.”

“That's okay! I can take you around. At least, we'll get to spend some time together. What do you say?” He winked at me, and my heart skipped a beat.

I bit my lips hard. “Are you sure about that? I wouldn't want to inconvenience you.”

“You, Allison, can never inconvenience me. As a matter of fact, I would love to have a quiet time with you. Do you enjoy Hazelnut ice cream?” He asked with his brows raised.

Blinking hard, I shook my head. “I don't…”

He looked around suspiciously, and that got me wondering why he was behaving in that manner. Without hesitation, he turned to me with a faint smile. “See you tomorrow at the Pack's gate. I'll get hazelnut ice cream for you.”

Before I could reply, he already rushed off. I scratched my head. “I don't take hazelnuts… What's wrong with him?”

Well, that was when I noticed Beta Jackson walking towards me. Did he run off because of the Beta? I shrugged. “Weirdo!”

“Allison Acosta?” Beta Jackson called, and I turned to him with a faint smile. “Yes, how may I help you?”

“The Alpha wants to see you in his chambers now.” He sounded rather scared.

Gulping hard, I asked. “Is he okay? Why would he want to see me?”

“I really don't know, Allison. I'm just doing what I was ordered to by calling you.” Beta Jackson replied, and I nodded before following him.

We got to the entrance of the Alpha's chambers. My mind flashed back to the incident the other day, and I smiled calmly. Pressing the doorbell twice, I twisted the doorknob and walked into the dark room.

“My Alpha, I'm here.”

The light was turned on immediately, and a gasp escaped my lips on seeing him. He was wincing in pain on the bare ground. I rushed to him, helping him sit on the bed. “Oh, my God! What's going on? Alpha Atlas, are you okay?”

“What were you doing, Allison? Who was he? Who touched you?” He groaned in pain as I wrapped my arms around him.

I was confused. What exactly was he trying to say? “My Alpha, I'm just asking you why you are in pain.”

“Allison, I'm in pain because of you. Who touched you? Who is…?” He tried to raise his voice, but he ended up groaning as I managed to get him on the bed.

Then, my mind flashed back to Jordan. Was he in pain because Jordan held my waist earlier? How did he know that? Oh, no! I can't tell him it's Jordan. “No… No one.”

“Someone held you. If there was no one, why do I feel this surging pain?” He asked, but I didn't reply to him. He laid on the bed, and beads of sweat ran down his face.

I felt so sorry for him. “I'll go get you a glass of water.” I tried to stand, but he grabbed my wrist. “Don't… Don't leave me.” He mouthed.

Reluctantly, I sat back on the bed. His eyes were shut, and he was still in pain, but not like before. Furthermore, I held his hand, tapping my hand on his chest. Shortly, he fell asleep and of course, I fell asleep too.

“Stay… stay with me.” He mouthed even while he was asleep.
