Alexander's eyes scanned the report in his capable hands. The background check on Alice had just landed on his desk, and it was 1:25 AM.

Since the incident with Alice, he couldn't focus on anything else except her. She occupied his thoughts, and his desires for her consumed him. His body ached for her touch, and his lips longed for hers.

Whenever they were near each other, an undeniable fire ignited within him, burning with intensity. This fire yearned to claim her as his own. He couldn't understand how a stranger had such a profound effect on him. Everything she did aroused him, but her lip biting was irresistible.

As he read through the document in his hand, he exhaled silently.

- Name: Alice Maxwell

- Parents: Christian and Kirby Maxwell

- Education: Business Administration

- Parents' occupations: Mother - Baker, Father - Uber driver

- Alma Mater: Conrad University

- Siblings: None

- Friends: None

- Parents: Deceased in a car accident

Alexander hummed softly, running his fingers through his hair. He was relieved that Alice hadn't been sent by his rivals. Her parents, having been middle-class, likely had no significant connections to his rivals—unless they needed money for something urgent. But they were no longer alive.

He placed the document in his drawer and headed upstairs to rest his restless mind, obsessed with thoughts of Alice. He couldn't wait to have her in his bed and make her ache in delightful places.

---

Alice stood in front of the mirror, blow-drying her hair, wearing jeans, an ash crop top, and a red-patterned flannel shirt. Her lips were bitten, and her expression was determined.

After the previous night's incident, she felt anger towards Alexander for teasing her. He had made it seem like she would receive a long-awaited kiss, only to playfully deny her.

She was willing to do anything to earn that kiss, even if it meant seducing him.

---

Alexander sipped his hot coffee, watching the morning news. He heard Alice's footsteps approaching but deliberately ignored her.

Alice leaned over from behind the sofa with a bright smile. "Hi, good morning."

He continued ignoring her and didn't respond. She moved to the front and sat beside him.

"How was your night?" She asked, not expecting an answer. "Mine was good."

"I didn't ask," he finally spoke.

"Now you talk," she said. "What are you drinking?"

"Coffee."

"Can I have a sip?" she asked, curiosity gleaming in her eyes.

"No."

"Why? Is it selfish not to share?"

"Do I look like I care?" he snapped. "Can't you see that I'm watching the news?"

Alice bit her lip, staring at him while he focused on the TV.

"Aren't you going to work today?" she inquired after several minutes of silence.

"I think it's high time you went back to that alley, don't you think so?" he retorted, glaring at her.

"I do think so," she replied, nodding. "I mean, who on Earth would want to live with you?"

He played with his tongue in his mouth, placing his coffee on the table before saying, "Watch your mouth."

"Or else what?" she challenged.

In a swift movement, he pushed her, his hand tightening around her neck as he loomed over her.

Alice lay on the sofa, gasping for breath while Alexander's firm grip squeezed her neck, his glare intensifying.

"I... can't... can't..." She struggled to speak, tapping his hand frantically. Tears welled up in her eyes as she fought for air. "Please... let go..."

Alexander's eyes widened as he saw her discomfort. He released his grip on her neck. "You can beg for your life, huh?"

Alice gasped and struggled to breathe, forcing air into her lungs. He brushed her hair away from her face with one hand, his other arm keeping him steady. "Kitten, you have to be careful with your words... or lack thereof," he warned, his thumb tracing her bottom lip, desire in his eyes. "You might say something you won't be spared for."

Alice's tongue darted out, wetting her lips. "Up."

"Or else what?" he echoed her words.

Their eyes locked. Alice's determined green eyes met Alexander's calm but standoffish gray ones.

He leaned in, their lips mere inches apart, but then he pulled away. "Up."

Alice stood up with one thought in her mind, the thought that would soon become a reality.

She grabbed the remote from the table and "accidentally" dropped it on the floor. "Oops, my bad. I'm so clumsy," she muttered. She bent down to pick it up and threw it at Alexander's feet. "Poor remote, I'm clumsy." She picked it up again. "Here, Alex."

He looked at the remote she handed him and then at Alice, who was on her knees close to him. "You're not very good at this, Kitten. Step up your game," he advised, knowing that everything she was doing was affecting him.

Alice rolled her eyes and shrugged, standing up. "Aren't you supposed to apologize for almost choking me to death?"

He burst into hysterical laughter, got up, and walked toward the stairs. "You're quite amusing, Alice. I should apologize for something that wasn't a mistake."
