Alice's POV

It turns out that Alexander isn't as boring and much of a loner as he appears. He's actually interesting to talk to.

"So, what are your sisters like?" I asked, studying him.

For the past half-hour, his expression had relaxed as we conversed. I'd seen his smiles, scoffs, nods, and I have to say it's wonderful to see him act like a human.

"Well," he began with a slight shrug, "Madison is annoying, and Addison is even more annoying."

I sighed, rolling my eyes. "Come on, Alexander, you can't describe someone like that."

"I can describe you," he said proudly.

"Okay then, please do describe me."

He tilted his head with a smirk. "One, you can be annoying."

I giggled, shaking my head. "Is everyone annoying to you?"

"Yeah," he replied without hesitation. "Alright, continue."

"Two, you bite your lip when you're nervous, scared, or thinking of ways to annoy me. Three, you're short. Four, you're annoying... Oh, I've mentioned that."

That made both of us burst into laughter.

"What are your hobbies?" I asked, and he paused for a moment without a word. "You don't know your hobbies, or you don't have any?"

Ignoring my questions, he stood up from the sofa we were sitting on. "What are your hobbies?"

"I love to paint."

"You paint?" He asked, surprised.

"I literally just said so," I replied, attempting to put my hair into a ponytail, but he rushed to me and took the scrunchie out of my hand.

"You're prettier with it down," he stated, not giving me any time to respond to his words before hitting me with another question. "What do you paint?"

"Anything," I shrugged. "I can paint anything, just name it."

"Silence," he said, taking his place beside me again. "Can you draw silence?"

I raised my eyebrows at him, and he just smiled. "You studied Business Administration, right?"

"You already did a background check on me, so why ask?" I teased.

"Why?"

As he asked that one-syllable question, my eyebrows furrowed as I studied him intently.

"Why?" he repeated. "Why did you study Business Administration, Alice?"

He was right. My parents had forced me to study Business Administration in university when all I had ever wanted was to be an artist. I had accepted it out of love for my family and had graduated with honors.

"Were you forced to study Business Administration?" he asked me, peering into my eyes, searching for answers when I took too long to reply. I guess I had zoned out.

I nodded slowly. "Yes, I was."

"Did you end up liking it?"

"Not really."

"If you could make a wish right now, what would it be?"

That was a random question. As I thought about what I could wish for, I couldn't decide. I had so many wishes, and they were all important to me.

"I want to be able to paint without any barriers," I finally said.

He nodded. "Enough about me. Let's talk about you, Mr. Romano."

He chuckled, then turned to face me. "Have you ever dated?"

"No."

Okay, that's a straightforward no.

"Have you ever had a crush?"

"No."

"When did you have your first kiss?"

"I was fifteen."

What?! I had expected a no from him. I wanted to shoot that girl who had the privilege of taking Alexander's first kiss. It infuriated me.

"Hmm," I hummed, annoyed. "She wasn't your girlfriend or crush?"

"No. I told you, I've never had a girlfriend or a crush."

"Then why did you kiss her?" My mouth snapped on its own, and I bit it as punishment and in embarrassment.

He stared at me, smirking for a moment too long. "I don't think it's your business, Kitten."

How dare he call me that and not answer my question? You have no idea what that nickname does to me, to my body. It was even worse with that smirk on his handsome face.

"I've also kissed a lot of guys," my mouth blurted out.

I should really glue my lips together; they never cooperate with me.

His facial expressions fell, disappearing, and anger and jealousy replaced them. "Luckily for you, that's in the past."

Leaning in closer to me, his lips merely an inch away from mine, he trailed his thumb on my bottom lip, snatching it from the grasp of my teeth. "I can make you climax with just a touch."

He was right. The pressure building inside me wasn't decreasing as I pressed my thighs together. I was wet, and a single action from Alexander was the cause.

His gray eyes moved from my eyes to my lips, while mine remained on his lips.

It was crystal clear that sexual tension was brewing between us. We had desires, and we were the only ones who could satisfy each other's cravings.

Just as he was about to close the gap between our lips, his phone rang, and he let out a string of cursés.

"I'll be in my room," I said, then rushed out of there before I did something reckless.

Slamming my door shut, I leaned against it, sliding down to sit on the floor. Inhaling and exhaling, I tried to calm my racing heart and nerves.

I was sure that by lunchtime, things wouldn't be awkward between us. Hopefully.

---

Stirring on the bed, I struggled to find sleep. It was 11:00 PM, and all I wanted was Alexander between my legs, but that couldn't happen, so I settled for the second option: sleep.

Lunchtime and dinnertime weren't as awkward as I had feared because he wasn't there. I ate alone since he was working.

Sleep was elusive tonight. No matter the position I tried, sleep refused to come. The AC was cranked up to the highest, but nothing happened. I was annoyed and thirsty.

Tonight just wasn't my night, I guess.
