MRS ROBINSON'S POV
It is so hard to believe that Matthew's friend can't walk. Such a wicked world, she is so beautiful and innocent.
"Dora what will you like to have?" I asked her as Matthew rushed to his room to freshen up.
"I am fine ma'am." She replied smiling.
"C'mon, you are already part of the family." I said smiling.
"Okay ma'am, I will just have water." She said shyly.
"Okay, I will get you some now." I said walking to the kitchen. She is a really nice girl, and I am happy Matt found someone like her not withstanding her shortcomings.
"So Dora, how are your parents?" I asked handing over the cup of water to her.
"My mother is doing well." She said drinking the water.
"And your father?' I asked sitting opposite her.
"He died." She replied smiling.
"Oh I am so sorry." I said sadly.
"Its nothing ma'am, I have lent not to let my problems or incidents get the best of me." She said smiling.
"Wow that is very great." I said staring at her. She really is a smart girl, I like her.
Matt came into the living room smiling broadly.
"You two seem to get along quite well." He said.
"Yes, she is very smart." I replied as he was about sitting. He stopped suddenly and I saw his eye lid starting to blink really fast.
"Not again. Your father isn't around." I said in a teary tone as I ran to him. Dora moved her chair closer to us but she seemed to look calm than I was.
I held him in my hands and laid him on the floor gently. His nose began to run, and I was so confused and scared to know what to do next.
"Ma'am please calm down. I need you to do a favour for me." Dora said.
"What?" I asked in haste.
"Please carry me and place me on the floor close to Matthew." She said and I didn't hesitate to do so.
She moved closer to him and took his head in her hands gently. She shook his head slowly twice and I saw his eye lids stop shaking.
"A tissue." She said stretching her hands to me. I ran to get her the tissue, she collected it from me and cleaned his nose with it.
Matthew came back to his senses and instantly he bursted into tears.
"God just take my life." He said as Dora pulled him to lay on her thighs.
"Don't ever say that again. You will be fine." She said patting his head slowly.
I stood watching both of them in amusement and I couldn't help the tears that rolled down my cheeks.
THEODORA'S POV
I kept tapping and brushing Matthew's hair till he felt asleep on my thighs.
His mother watched us speechlessly while I smiled at her telling her it will be fine.
"Thank you so much Dora, you saved my son and even made him fall asleep on your thighs. You are such a darling." She said smiling.
"It is nothing Ma'am, Matthew is my only friend and I will do anything to make him happy." I replied smiling at him as he slept.
"It is hard to believe that a girl like you would have an heart of gold after what the world would have done to you." She added sadly.
"My mother has always thought me never to listen to what the world says. She always tells me I am beautiful." I said smiling.
"I would love to see the mother of such a great lady like you." She said smiling.
"Really? I cab bring her to see you." I said happily.
"No no, I will go see her myself." She said.
"I will be so glad." I said happily.
"So back to Matt's lesson, I will be paying you $500." She said.
"What!!! $500!!" I exclaimed.
"Is it to small? I can add to it if you want." She said.
"No!! It is too much!" I said shaking my head.
"Dora it isn't for someone like you. You have made my son happy in a way that we his parents have never done." She said holding my hands.
"I can't believe this." I said as tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Don't cry Dora, I am sure Matthew will want to add more when he is awake." She said and I hugged her tightly with Matt still on my thighs.
"Thank you so much Mrs Robinson " I said in tears.
"No Dora. Thank you." She said smiling.
Mother will be so happy, there won't be any need for her to work so hard anymore. Finally my wish to help my mother is coming to pass.
Thank you God for making me met and know Matthew, thank you for making me who I am today. Thank you for the kind of mother you have given me, cos without mother I won't be this smart.
"You made my day ma'am." I said happily.
"Really? I am happy to know that." She said smiling.
She walked out of the living room and I focused my attention on the sleeping Matthew.
"Matthew your mother is an angel." I said brushing his face sightly.
"She will be paying me $500, isn't that huge? We will never suffer again." I said happily.
"I wish you are awake now so I can hug you so tight." I said giggling. His mother walked into the living room holding a envelope.
"Dora this is for the great job you did here today." She said stretching it to me. I collected it and opened it to find lots of money in it.
"Ahhh!" I screamed shockingly.
"Are you okay?" She asked fearfully.
"Yeah I am, but ma'am I can't take this. It is too much." I said pointing it back to her.
"If you don't accept it, you will be offending me real bad." She said and I dropped my hand weakly.
"Thank you so much." I said as tears came rushing out again.
"Its okay, you know Matt won't want to see you this way." She said smiling.
I nodded cleaning my eyes with my palm. Oh God, I can't thank you enough.
