[Two Weeks Later, Fire Palace]
"In one....." Sage counted.
"Two......" Cheyenne joined in.
They're both in the Palace Radius where there's a vast area of land, free for practices.
They had taken the last two weeks to design it perfectly for Shayla's practices, and just three days ago, it came out fine.
They sat on top of a stone with black whistles to their mouths, each one of their legs on top of a smaller stone.
They've gotten used to the insane heat here, it's not even a problem anymore.
Shayla stood at the center of the ground, holding her fire sword which she had summoned out of herself since three days ago. It has been working with great usefulness for her practices.
Her aesthetic changed, but not too much. She's still a pink-obsessed girl, just that she mixed it with the colour of her fire—gold.
Most of her robes are like that, and her hair? It seems to be growing longer everyday even without Ryker here. It's longer beyond her butt right now, and her jewels didn't decrease from it. In fact, they multiplied than before.
She looks serious and focused as she gave the mountains and small volcanic rocks around a hard prickling stare.
She looked back at her knights over her shoulder, and the two got the signal immediately, standing to their feet.
"Go!" They chorused, blowing their whistles at the same time.
Shayla leapt to the air, levitating till she's at the top of the mountains where she wielded her sword with finesse, rubbing the blade with two fingers before sending the fire sparks to the mountains.
The mountains split, pouring lava out of their middles and brightening up the fire and flying sparks.
She tumbled, rolled, twisted and whisked herself in the air before landing another thud from the sword.
A lone dry tree stood on top of the mountain with few leaves on top of it.
She leapt to it, touched a branch with her toes then whisked back.
The few small leaves on the tree fell off, and she chased after them, gently moving with the waves of the hot air till she was left with just one by her sharp sight.
She landed on the ground, still targeting that one leaf with her sword.
In the middle of the other leaves, she stabbed it with the sword tip which happened to be in front of Cheyenne's face.
Cheyenne didn't move, didn't blink even when the burning sword blazed in front of her eyes.
Shayla stayed in that position for a minute, and the fire burned away the little leaf.
She lowered the sword, sighing.
"I'm tired," she dropped the sword and sat.
Cheyenne bursted into laughter.
"You'll never stop this laziness, would you, your ladyship?" She said.
"At least, she's very good now. She's taking her practices serious." Safe replied, bringing her a cup of strawberry juice.
Shayla took it and gulped everything, licking her lips after.
"But when you were still at the slaves labor camp, I heard you were the most hardworking," Cheyenne sat in front of her.
"Of course I was hard-working, there were whippings and pressure from the supervisors, but here... nothing like that. Why should I have sleepless nights cos of people I can handle with one snap of my finger? Please, just leave me alone with my laziness." Shayla sighed tiredly, and now it's Sage's turn to laugh.
"Stop laughing!" She pointed at him with a cute frown, and he covered his mouth quickly.
"Why not try extracting your FireStone?" Cheyenne suggested.
"You think it's a good idea?" Sage said cautiously.
"She summoned her fire sword already, so why not call out the FireStone too? His lordship's FrostOrb was out of his body the whole time, and he was even more powerful with the orb outside his body." Cheyenne shrugged.
"Come to think of it, she hasn't been sleeping at nights since two weeks ago, maybe removing it will actually reduce her inner heat?" Sage said.
"Is that true?" Shayla looked up.
Cheyenne and Sage nodded.
Two minutes later, they're both standing some meters away from her, and her eyes are closed.
Focusing on the inner energy again, conjuring the inner stone and taking advantage of the hot environment, she summoned.
Few hand movements, and a few more whimpers, she was able to really call it out.
From her core, the FireStone fell into her palm. Round, gold, and burning brightly.
So beautiful.
The golden glow from it was everywhere, it nearly outshone the light of the day.
Cheyenne and Sage came closer, each by her sides as they stared at the FireStone on her palm together.
"I hate to admit, but this damn FireStone is more beautiful than his lordship's FrostOrb." Sage said.
"I disagree, his lordship's FrostOrb everyday everytime for me." Cheyenne replied, and Shayla huffed.
She bit herself on the finger, dropping her blood on the stone. The fire burned brighter, glowing up.
"Fineee...it's so fuckin pretty like the owner," Cheyenne sighed.
"Right," Shayla nodded, but suddenly, she pressed it to her stomach, returning it inside.
"Why?" The knights chorused.
"I can't risk it being outside, these greedy freaks might just make plans to snatch it just like they did the FrostOrb." Shayla sat back.
"Wait ... You still think that orb the West Palace stole from the East Palace is the real FrostOrb?" Sage scoffed proudly.
"It's not?" Shayla blinked.
"If his lordship was that negligent, then things would have gone sour since long ago. Also, if the Millions Family were really drawing power from the real FrostOrb, then his lordship wouldn't have been able to kill Azura that easily." Cheyenne explained.
"Lots of things that I still don't know," Shayla muttered.
"I'm sure his lordship kept it from you for a reason." Sage said.
Shayla sighed, nodding twice.
"Morning broke yesterday after two long weeks of darkness, I'm sure a lot is happening in the city today"
"It's the traditional royal wedding between Esme Vega and Zeke. Also, it's the takeover ceremony at the West Palace." Sage provided.
"Do you want us to go waste everyone at the wedding?" Cheyenne said.
"No." Shayla flatly said.
Cheyenne sighed.
"We don't move unless they move first, I'm telling you." Shayla turned serious. "Don't do anything without telling me first, and if you have useful ideas, feel free to tell me."
"I understand," Cheyenne complied, head going down a bit.
"By the way, I and Cheyenne will visit the human world later today. The headquarters showcase is today, and we're to represent boss if he's not available." Sage said.
"I know, I have somewhere to be too. Be careful, you both." Shayla stood.
"I'll go soak in the cold pool before I sweat away my blood." She said.
Her robe was slowly dragging the ground as she proceeded into the entrance at the other side.
"The fact that she has to soak in the pool for almost five times a day is something else." Sage muttered.
"You should be thankful that she has that bracelet on her wrist that's slowly fighting the heat. If she doesn't, then maybe she'd be soaking like ten, fifteen times." Cheyenne said.
"But she's actually enduring better than I expected." Sage nodded.
"She's stronger than she looks, but it's just this persistent spirit of laziness." Cheyenne replied, and Sage chuckled.
Their chats paused when then sensed a visitor around.
After exchanging knowing glances, they both vanished off, reappearing at the major entrance of the palace—the burning gate.
Liza stood in front of the gate, holding a bottle of liquor and a greedy smile on her face.
Even when the knights arrived, she didn't look at them. Her eyes stayed on the burning golden gate, and her smile turned bigger.
"I've been planning to come for a visit since two weeks ago, but unfortunately, morning didn't come till yesterday. I miss her so much that it hurts. Go back inside, and tell her I'm here... waiting." She said, finally looking at the knights.
"I feel power oozing from you, meaning you got your powers back. Wenches be doing the most unexpected." Sage sneered.
"Whatever made you think you can come here and demand to see her and get to see her is just as foolish as your face. You're the most pathetic person in the whole of this city, Liza Kings." Cheyenne grinned mockingly.
Liza drank from her liquor bottle, maybe trying to drown her anger.
"Tell Shayla King to come out here! I have to see her! My daughter doesn't hate me, you both can cry all day about it. Get me inside, or get her out here!" Liza ordered.
"Shayla King?" Cheyenne scoffed, walking closer to the woman. "Say that again. Call her by your dirty surname again!"
Liza went silent, but she smirked and started pouring the alcohol in her bottle to the ground.
"She's his lordship's partner. Love thread or not, wedding or not, weather he's alive or not... she's automatically Shayla Morozov. Unless you want to disappear with her fire, keep your wishes unspoken." Cheyenne threatened.
By now, Liza has finished pouring out the alcohol in her bottle, and she put it to use immediately.
She broke it with her mind, and she nearly shoved the jagged edges to Cheyenne's face, but Sage was faster.
With his rope, he tied Liza in a roll, lifted her and threw her to a different part of the mountain where she nearly rolled down.
Liza stood as if she didn't just fall fatally. She sent a crack to the mountains beneath them.
The mountains cracked in the middle, almost sinking them inside, but Sage was faster, again.
He dragged Cheyenne with himself to another side where they sent conjoined hits to Liza.
Liza fell out of the way, not letting it cool down before returning the hit to them, violent and vile.
Cheyenne didn't let Sage have the upper hand this time, she blocked it, but Liza is really strong.
Cheyenne staggered when the hit got her, and a little trail of blood come out of her nose.
"Darn it! Cheyenne." Sage muttered.
"This is only just a warm-up. Next time, I won't be so nice. I have a wedding to attend today, so I'll return tomorrow, and you better be ready to bring my daughter to me by then, or you'll do more than a little bleeding." Liza said arrogantly, vanishing away.
"Cheyenne, you ok?" Sage held her, but she broke free.
"How many times do you want me to tell you to stop doing things for me? Why were you taking the first hits alone?" She confronted.
"Cheyenne i—"
"If I didn't act faster to take that last hit, you'd be the one bleeding in the nose right now you know that. Why always ready to do anything for me at any cost! What is wrong with you!!" She shouted angrily.
"Cos I love you!!!" Sage yelled back.
"But I don't!!" Cheyenne spat, pushing his chest hard.
Sage lurched back, swallowing hard multiple times.
His eyes grew watery, his palms sweaty.
He suddenly started feeling the stings of the fire environment again.
"Focus on yourself, Sage. Grow your skills, not because of me, but because of yourself. Do things because you really want to do them. Our families abandoned us half-dead before his lordship found us and saved us, focus on making your family pay for what they did to you and stop. Stop your feelings. I don't plan to ever fall in love, not even in the next life." Cheyenne declared.
The tears finally fell from Sage's eyes, but Cheyenne didn't care.
Sage quickly wiped them though, with his fingers.
Cheyenne wiped the blood on her nose too.
"Let's go, we have the human world to be at." She said, leading the way down the mountain.
Sage followed grudgingly.

[City Tower]
Xena is still here, yet to be saved by anyone. She has lost hope completely.
All she does is take the twins daily punishments like a pathetic little slob.
She has no idea what's going on in the city or how her father is faring.
No idea how Shayla is doing now that Ryker is gone.
No idea if Shayla is still mad at her for what she said to her.
No idea if Ryker is really totally gone just like that.
She's crying as she leaned by the wall of the edge, still tied up and still blindfolded.
The only free part of her body is her mouth. Her blindfold is always wet with her tears, and it's already reeking of tear smell.
Also, her branded forehead doesn't even feel like it's healing. Her lifeline is back to her, so her animal ability should grow sharper, but it's like it even got worse cos she could do nothing about the houseflies hovering around her.
They're very many, cos apart from her forehead brands, she has been on her period since yesterday, and her blood has been soaking her skirt up. She smells so bad.
She has even forgotten what the sun looks like, or the moon, or daylight.
The clicking of heels on the cemented ground made her freeze.
No need to even wonder, it's very obvious who owns that walk.
Sadie.
She could smell her choky perfume even before she got close, and Sadie clapped as she approached.
She wore madly tall black heels, a mini skirt and a black hoodie. A arm bag is on her shoulder, and she looks slightly different cos she cut her hair, so it's now in a bob, but her goth appearance is still there.
All black.
"Yunno what? Today is my father's wedding to his new victim, so I thought of coming to say hi before I'd leave, but heck ... You're a mess. You smell like shit!" She plugged her nose with her fingers.
"I can't even come close, I guess Soren would faint if I had brought him. Look at the swam of houseflies, ew!" She waved her hand to hit one of the houseflies away.
"There'll be plenty of food at the wedding, so don't worry... I'll bring leftovers for you and plenty bones, but before that...why don't we play a little?" She smiled, lifting a bucket of water from the ground.
She poured it all on Xena, then she broke the bucket with her heels before picking a horsewhip hanging on the wall.
Without pity, she brought the whip down to Xena's body, whipping her in repeat like a sinner animal.
Her skin peeled with the whips, and her blood started wasting again.
Xena cried till her voice seized, till her body couldn't take it anymore. Her body went limp on the ground.
She fainted.

[Carnegie Hall]
The historical hall is the wedding location of Zeke and Esme's wedding, and the theme is also historical.
Robes and whatnot.
Zeke woke up a week ago, and he has been slowly recuperating in silence since then.
When morning finally came yesterday, he ordered this wedding to happen today.
Esme didn't even complain despite his ugly burnt face.
She agreed to the wedding immediately, and here they are.
Only exclusive guests got invited. Just members of the royal family and the clansmen.
Over twenty clansmen died during the collapse of the East Palace, but they're large in number, so there's still a lot of them left, and they're all here, filling the space.
Liza attended with Kade by her side. As they entered the hall, Kade looks calm—very calm.
Since Liza got her powers back, he has been cautious and obedient around her, and he's even the one carrying her bag.
Zeke and Esme and Granny Tara aren't in sight.
They must be in the couple dressing suite, fitting into their dresses.
The twins entered the hall, both looking as dark as midnight.
They're the only ones wearing modern in the historical call. Soren wore a leather jacket on a loose jean, and he held his qin, intending to okay for the new couple.
But surprisingly, they're not alone. A girl around their age came in after them, and she's dressed exactly like Sadie. She looks just as wicked too.
Her name's Rivera, Sadie's new sidekick whom she replaced Mercury with, and she looks extra.
"I thought you said you were gonna bring your rabbit, Soren." She said, getting beside Sadie.
"He's slightly sick, resting in his home cage." Soren replied, that emotionless face so hard.
Then, the whisperings of the guests started getting to them...
"Aren't they too radiant? Their mother died two weeks ago."
"And their father is getting married to their best friend's mother?"
"I heard Zeke's face is incurable and now ugly."
"Zeke?"
"What else should I call him? So far the FrostOrb isn't with the Millions Family anymore, then he's not the Grand Supreme."
"What a dramatic family, is that really the end of the East Palace?"
"I heard they're rebuilding it though."
"What use would that be? They'd be below the West Palace now anyways."
Sadie was boiling as she listened to the whisperings, but she kept her fists balled, controlling her anger cos Zeke specifically warned them not to cause ruckus today.
"Those runny mouths should go in the pit. Shut up y'all!" Rivera shouted at a point when she got fed up with their whisperings.
"Ignore them, I'm not in the mood to kill today," Soren said.
"Look who we have here!" Rivera pressed back when she saw Mercury coming, dressed in a robe.
Mercury's eyes went to Soren first, then Rivera, then Sadie.
She stopped walking, and Sadie walked up to her with a insincere smile.
"Welcome to the family, Mercury Millions. I bet you've been dying to bear that expensive surname."
"I'm still Mercury Vega, I'm not gonna get adopted by your father! I hate my mother just as much as you do right now, so don't try to make me feel guilty!" Mercury spat.
"Do I care? And you have no say in these things, Mercury. Your adoption documents got finalized already. After this wedding, you and your pr0$titute mother becomes a part of this family. She $+duced father, so she should be ready to bear the brunt." Sadie glared.
"Let's go, Rivera."
"Yes, baby!" Rivera held her arm.
Mercury was looking at that contact as the girls left her.
Soren walked past her too...
"Soren..." She grabbed his arm, but he pushed her off, and she fell on the ground.
"You don't touch me, or I'll change my mind and kill you and your shameless mother!" He threatened before leaving.
Mercury stood and rushed into the available corner to cry.
--
[Couple Dressing Suite]
Zeke and Tara are out of the suite, so it's just Esme inside, and she's grinning from ear to ear as she stared at her own beautiful reflection in the mirror, gushing over the perfection of her red wedding robe and headpiece.
"You must be beauty-drunk," Sadie's voice said behind her.
Briskly, she turned, facing the door to behold Sadie who's just entering.
She sighed, smiling as genuinely as she could. "Sadie, I didn't know you'd come."
"What? It's my father's wedding with you, why would I stay home? I need to witness the start of your hell. You have no idea what you're stepping into." Sadie chuckled.
"Stop saying rubbish, and wait at the main hall." Esme replied.
Sadie suddenly grabbed her shoulders, keeping her hooked.
"Sadie!" She gasped shockingly.
"This is my own way of welcoming you into the f+ked up Millions Family. Together with Mercury, we'll be one big happy family. Congratulations!" Sadie laughed before letting go of her shoulders.
She brought a handful of confetti out of her bag and poured it in the air, still laughing as she exited the room.
"She's crazy," Esme muttered.
"Esmeralda!" Zeke's voice filtered in.
Her face lit up when she saw him.
Zeke wore a equally red robe, but his burnt cheek is a turnoff entirely. He looks horrific, but Esme doesn't mind
His heart matters.
So far he loves her, it's all good.
"The West Palace?" She asked.
"I'm sure they're currently doing their takeover ceremony. But don't worry, they takeover the city today, and we snatch it back tomorrow. Let them taste superiority for some hours." Zeke replied, leaning in to kiss her.
His burnt face has a specific smell, but she didn't mind. She kissed back.
"Are you both gonna spend the rest of your lives in here? Guests are waiting." Granny Tara said by the door.
The new couple left the suite, walking down the aisle of people together, accompanied by both friendly and hateful eyes of the guests.
Soren is playing his qin aggressively in the front, Sadie's arms are folded on her chest as she stood beside Rivera, both glaring.
Mercury's eyes are red from tears.
Liza is clapping so loud in the middle of the crowd, and Esme wouldn't stop rolling eyes at her.
Shockingly, Granny Jojo is in the hall too. Lilith brought her, and no idea if she's healed or not, but Zeke was smirking as he stared at the old haggard woman.
Granny Tara on the other hand looks like the happiest in this hall. She didn't stop smiling till the couple got to the front and kowtowed slowly to watch other.
The new arrangement is now ready. The battle can now start.
--
[West Palace]
Just like Zeke said, it's a celebration galore over here.
Not just the West Palace folks and the clansmen, but there are new additions to their harem like slaves and servants and able-bodied guards.
The celebration is peak.
Faye and Blaise and Winona are smiling like fools as Astor and Kasia went forward together to receive the royal endowment.
Since Kasia is the head of the family, she's the one who got crowned as the owner of the city.
She got crowned as the Grandmistress while Astor stayed beside her as the Palace Eminence.
As they received the new endowments and edicts on a platter, there's a shared ray of sunshine on their faces.
They faced each other and crossed their arms before drinking the tiny cups of royal root wine.
Astor and Faye's smile are full of schemes.
Now, things fell in place... just the way they wanted.
--
[Crossover Command Building]
Rumi and Anatoli landed safely at the threshold, and they didn't even have to exchange glances before entering.
That made every plan meticulously and left no space for hitch.
It's been two weeks, so the managers are fully back to work, regulating the entry and exit of people in the city.
Rumi placed an elbow on their desk when she arrived, and that was enough to call their attention.
"Two full bags of nyx notes for a descension. You can also pay with tales of silver." They read out.
"Why should we give you anything when y'all are going to let us go without hassle?" Rumi smiled, waving an hand over the faces of the three managers.
"You're going to let us go, without taking a penny. And you're going to give us a bag of money from your earnings too." She spelled.
And it worked.
The managers arranged one bag of money for them without arguing.
Anatoli zipped it up and carried it.
The ladder room door opened for them immediately.
"Good kids," Rumi blew kisses at the managers before entering the ladder room with her father.
Together, they got on the ladder, starting the journey to the human realm.

[Pink Island, 7pm]
After Shayla soaked in the cold pool earlier, she came here alone, and she has been here since then, eating strawberries.
Also, she's drinking alcohol, and she looks slightly tipsy with her red cheeks.
The island is silent—just what she needed, and she's embracing the serenity as the alcohol burned her throat.
Last time she came here...she came with him, but now...
Now...
She let tears out of her eyes before she knew it, and she sniffled.
"Cheyenne and Sage said I needed to move on and live the best, and I agreed with them, but I...i only try to keep it all together whenever they're around. If I'm alone like this, I can't stop sadness from crawling in." She said to herself, pouting tipsily.
"Why would you be gone? Demigods can't die without the godslayer sword, so wherever you are, you better come back or I'll...."
She stopped talking, sniffled, wiped her tears and drank from her alcohol.
She softly kissed her bracelet, then she brought his embroidered handkerchief out of her robe pocket to sniff into her nose.
"Or I'll just...get another man. I'm pretty enough to bag any man in this city yunno?" She sniffled again.
A cold wind blew past, carrying a voice she'd recognize even in the noisiest pit of abyss...
"Before any other man would touch you, he'd die off like an unlucky withered flower."
Shayla spranged up, eyes wide as she looked around desperately.
"Ry?"
"I know it's you so stop speaking from the air and get out to me you scum!" She cried, wiping her nose.
"Ry?" She repeated, voice shivering with her chronic anticipation.
"Why are you doing this? Is it fun?" She broke down again, sitting back on on the table.
She took the alcohol bottle and brought it to her lips to taste again when she remembered someone.
She lowered the alcohol and gasped, dropping the bottle on the ground.
She levitated, leaving the island.
Immediately after she left, a shadow wearing a red cloak and a wide black hat retreated into the darkness.
--
[Clouds Castle]
Eternus was fishing in his fog river when Shayla arrived at the riverbank, swirling her robe before facing him.
"Here she is..." Eternus stood from his boat with a wide smile.
In a heartbeat, he was already with her.
"Greetings, your ladyship." He bowed.
"You know why I came. He's still breathing somewhere, right? I can still feel him everywhere and it's driving me crazy. Earlier,I heard his voice at our island and —"
"Your ladyship, I'm a seer who sees the future, I dunno a thing about lives and deaths of gods." He cut her off.
"But you're close to him! You should know these things even if it's a bit!" Shayla raised her voice, and he sighed.
"I can't even see into your future together, Shayla. All I see is darkness which has never happened before. Darkness usually means hopelessness, so maybe it's really the end of the way for the two of you. It's better to end it now than wait for that dark future. Maybe it's all for the best."
Shayla went quiet.
"You should leave as fast as you can, goddess. Your warm aura isn't fit for this foggy place, you'd suffer backlash if you stay too long." Eternus continued before starting to go inside.
"Please...." Shayla begged.
Eternus stopped, but he didn't turn back. He could hear the breaking in her voice.
"Please...I know you know something. I miss him so much and it's messing with me every time. The cold spring isn't even doing anything. I have to take five baths daily and it's killing me. Whatever you know about all of these, just tell me. I miss him, very very, too much." She said.
"If you both grew a love thread for each other already, this would have been simpler, but in the absence of it, there's nothing I can offer. Go back to your palace, goddess. Your aura isn't compatible with this place." Eternus replied and teleported into the castle.
He waited till he was sure he couldn't feel her aura around the castle anymore, then he opened the deepest room in the castle.
Inside the room, a FrostOrb sat majestically inside a prism glass, so beautifully crafted, shinning radiantly. But the shine is confined in the glass cos of it's several divine layers.
It's Ryker's real FrostOrb.
"You better come back fast, I'm tired of guarding your orb for hundreds years plus, you heartless demigod." Eternus smiled a little.

[Underground Palace]
According to Pearl's order through the channeler shell, Jude has dipped himself into a bowl of ice cubes since daybreak.
Thanks to his naturally strong spirit, it's nothing to him.
Though, he feels dead cos his insides are all literally ice. Lungs, intestines and the other components, he's barely breathing.
It's 8pm now, so it's been fifteen hours, and he was at the verge of losing it when Pearl returned.
She was smiling darkly as she rounded the ice bowl, watching him inside for a beat.
"Good. You can come out now." She said after a short while.
She barely finished talking when Jude jumped out of the bowl, shivering inside his own frozen pale skin.
"Go now. Take the compass, it'd lead you to her fire palace." She handed him a compass.
"How...how did you find out about her palace?" He stuttered icily.
"I might have been busy with Ryker since two weeks ago, but I took my time to search for her palace too, just for you. You're my minion after all." Pearl smiled.
"So you came just to give me this compass?" Jude said, his bones cracking under his flesh.
"Nope, I also came to take this!" She raised her hand, revealing a pack of condoms.
"We've been doing it raw since two weeks ago, we want to try something new this time." She said.
Jude rolled eyes, and she chuckled.
"Now run along, go get what you deserve. Coast is clear, the knights are out of the city so you're free."

[Fire Palace]
Eternus was very right when he said Shayla's aura contradicts the aura of the foggy clouds castle.
Normally, soaking in the cold pool calms her down after a while, but it's not like that this time.
She has been inside for some minutes, but there has been no improvements.
Her own skin feels like her enemy. She's literally cooking from the inside, and the water turned mad hot already.
She stayed in the middle, hugging herself with her arms. Her pink bik!ni seems to be hurting her skin as it's starting to burn too.
Soon, her whole skin will catch fire.
She could feel it.
She raised two fingers underwater, changing the water to cold, but a minute after, the water boiled again, reddening her skin.
"Too hot...too too...hot...ahh..." She whispered, clamping her arms around her body again.
The water boiled, as if trying to cook her for dinner, and this time, she even lacked the energy to change it.
She's starting to go inert.
Is this how Ryker felt when she was absent from his life for more than 300 years?
The pain? The torture? The grit?
She whimpered again, hot steam rising from the water and implicating the air too.
She screamed out with a wolf-like howl...
"Ry...is this like a punishment? Huh?" She whispered, letting go of her arms.
They went sidewards, and her body went limp in the water when it got too much to handle.
She was already inert when a new entity jumped into the boiling pool.
Jude.
Thanks to his icy body, bypassing the fire gate was easy, and now that he's inside the boiling pool with her, he feels nothing, too.
He easily swam to her and cupped her up in his arms, sweeping her hair away from her face.
"F+k, I missed you." He kissed her forehead first, then her hair.
"Don't worry, I'm here for you. I'll make you feel better. Much more better than you've ever felt." He whispered, collaring his arms around her in a slow drag.
Their bodies collided underwater, and as he tried to share his body coldness with her, he felt strange.
It didn't take long at all.
It happened so fast, like a spell.
Like an ant is crawling from his feet.
He stayed still, feeling the sensation of the torturous crawl till whatever it is arrived at his lower belly.
Eventually, he let go of Shayla, settling her body down beside the pool wall.
He got out of the pool to see what it really is that's crawling on him, but he saw nothing.
No ant. No insect.
But something is crawling inside of him, it's creepy and insanely uncomfortable, the tickle so crazy.
By now it's at his chest, and that was when tragedy struck.
He felt his heart getting slashed in the inside, and he swayed back, holding the pool wall for support as his head went down.
His second hand held his chest that's already bleeding, his body trembled with fear. The venom of death is already lacing him.
He looked at Shayla in the water, and he grunted, slowly getting what exactly is happening.
Hex.
Ryker must have put a forbidden hex on her that any other person who touches her intimately should die.
"F...u....ahhhh!!!!!!!!" He growled, his voice shaking the lava beneath the top mountains.
"You're going to be a ba$tard till...till the end... Ryker Morozov.... even in your absence....ahhhhh!!!!!!" His hand slipped away from the pool edge, and his back landed on the ground.
He didn't bleed from the mouth, ears, eyes or nose.
The blood only soaked his chest, and his eyeballs bulged out.
The agony was short, but painful than anything he has ever tasted.
His eyes closed on their own, embracing the poisonous claws of sudden death.
