Naomi entered her office, still smiling from the elevator kiss. She was about to sit down when suddenly the door burst open, revealing Diva's angry face.
"You slut!" Diva yelled, and Naomi sighed tiredly. "Are you happy now, ruining someone's relationship?" She continued, her voice venomous.
"Good morning to you too, Your Highness."She responded calmly,
"Keep your stupid greetings to yourself! If you think my brother will have anything to do with you, then you're joking. You're not welcome to our family, and you never will be! You whore." Naomi ignored her, unfazed by the insults, "You won't get away with this. I'll make your life hell." She sneered as she turned and walked away.
Naomi rolled her eyes, relieved the confrontation was over. Just then, her secretary entered, looking worried.
"Ma'am, is everything okay?" she asked, and Naomi replied with a warm smile.
Meanwhile, Diva stormed down the hallway, her anger palpable. Everyone she passed bowed to her, but she barely acknowledged them. Her cell phone rang, and she picked it up without looking.
"Yes, hello?" she said, her tone still sharp. Mrs. Adam's voice came from the other end of the phone, and Diva's face changed slightly as she listened.
"Oh, hi Diva," Mrs. Adam said warmly, and Diva quickly recognized her voice.
"Oh, Mom, I'm sorry I didn't know it was you," Diva said, smiling as she entered her office and sat down on the sofa.
"It's okay, dear. It seems someone offended you,"
"Exactly, Mom. But it's okay. I'll deal with that myself," Diva replied, trying to brush it off. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine, dear. It's been a long time since I've heard from you," Mrs. Adam said, her tone gentle.
"I'm sorry, Mom. It's been a hectic few days,"
"I know, dear. You don't have to stress yourself too much".
"I'll try not to,"
"Okay, but anyway, I called to invite you for a family dinner this weekend," Mrs. Adam said, and Diva's face lit up.
"Really, Mom?"
"Yes, dear. Will you be available?"
"Sure, I'll definitely be there," she replied, her excitement growing.
"Okay, I'll be so glad to see you. Anyway, give my regards to your mom and everyone,"
"Thank you, Mom," she said, and they hung up.
Diva let out a scream of excitement, her earlier anger momentarily forgotten.
Some hours later, Mia was engrossed in her work, typing away on her laptop, when her cell phone rang. She picked it up without checking the caller ID, assuming it was Naomi.
"Hello, sis," she said, her voice cheerful, still focused on her screen.
"Are you expecting your sister's call?" Nathan's deep voice came from the other end, catching her off guard.
Mia's eyes widened as she quickly took the phone from her ear to check the number.
"Sorry, I didn't check the caller ID," she said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Can you come over to my office? I miss you already," Nathan said.
Mia's heart skipped a beat at his words.
"No, I'm busy right...," she replied, trying to sound casual, but before she could finish, the call got disconnected.
"Why did he disconnect the call?" she wondered, dropping the phone on her desk with a confused look.
She hurriedly paused her work, stood up, and left the office. As she came out of the elevator, heading to Nathan's office, she suddenly caught a glimpse of Diva walking towards Nathan's office. She quickly hid from sight, her heart racing with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
Nathan was backing away from the door when he noticed someone opening it. He smiled, thinking it was Mia.
"I thought you weren't coming," he said, still backing away.
"Expecting me?" Diva asked, her voice amused, as she stepped into the office.
Nathan's smile faltered as he turned to her quickly. "Diva,"
"Thankful enough I met you in your office today," she said, moving closer to him, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"Why are you here?"
"To see you, of course. I came so we can have lunch together. You know it's been a long time," she said, and Nathan sighed tiredly.
Meanwhile, Mia went back to her office, lost in thought.
"Hope she didn't see me, I hope?" she thought, "I guess she's here to take him out for lunch," she sighed, her stomach growling with hunger. "Thankfully, I have some snacks in my bag," she said to herself, bringing out the snack and starting to eat while working, her mind still preoccupied with the scene she had just witnessed.
Back to Nathan and Diva.
"Please, don't say no. Is it bad to have lunch together?" Diva asked, her eyes pleading.
"Maybe some other time, I promise,"
"When? I miss hanging out with you," Diva said, her voice taking on a whiny tone.
"I'm preoccupied, I can't go out,"
"We can order a takeout," she suggested, not giving up.
"Not today, Diva. I promise to make it up to you... order anything you want, I'll pay for it," he said, trying to appease her.
"Fine, if that's what you said." She grumbled.
"Thank you," he smiled, relieved that the conversation was ending.
"Alright, chat with you later," she said, blowing a kiss at him before walking away. Nathan breathed a sigh of relief as the door closed behind her.
After a moment, he picked up his phone and left the office.
Meanwhile, Mia was still engrossed in her work, snacking on her food. A knock came in, and she ushered the person in. Nathan entered, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on Mia, who was eating.
"Is that what you're having for lunch?" he asked, his tone disapproving. Mia's face snapped up to his, surprised.
"Nat," she called out, quickly trying to hide the snack behind her back.
"Are you trying to hide it from me, because I already saw it" He said asked, feeling a little pained about it.
Mia gulped, her eyes darting up to his. "Um, I..." she stuttered.
Nathan pulled closer to her, closing the gap between them.
"Why didn't you order a takeout? I would have paid for it. I don't like what you're eating," he said, his voice low and gentle.
"I was actually coming to your office after you disconnected the call, that's when I saw Princess Diva going to your office."
"I'm sorry about that. She came to ask me out for lunch, but I refused."
"I know. I just don't want her to see me here."
"It's okay. Soon she'll stop coming here." He said as he caress her face.
"Let's go to my office. I've already placed an order," He said, offering his hand.
"What if your secretary starts to get suspicious?". She hesitated
"I don't care. Besides, I want everyone to know anyway," He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of her chair, his eyes locked on hers.
With that, they left the office, hand in hand.
Alex and Naomi sat on the roof, enjoying their lunch and playfully feeding each other.
"I found this place amazing while having lunch," Alex said, his eyes sparkling with delight.
"Me too," she replied, smiling back at him.
They both chuckled, the atmosphere between them light and carefree.
"So, have you thought about going on a proper date with me?" Alex asked, Naomi hesitated ."Do I still need to wait for more time?"
"No, I'll go with you," She said, her face lighting up with excitement.
"It's okay if you don't want to, I really don't want to force..." Alex's words trailed off as Naomi shut him up with a quick kiss on the lips.
"I'd love to," she said, hiding her blush behind a smile. Alex giggled, clearly pleased.
"You know that kiss doesn't count, I wasn't ready for it," he said, teasingly.
"It was just a way of showing you that I'm willing to go on the date with you,"
"Well, if that's how you show it, make it real,"
"Make what real?". she asked, pretending not to understand.
"The kiss, of course. It was so quick, and I wasn't ready," he replied, pouting.
"Don't be naughty," she teased, continuing to eat. She noticed Alex wasn't eating but instead looked sulky. "Why aren't you eating?" she asked,
"I'm not hungry anymore," he said, still sulking. Naomi chuckled.
"Are you serious right now?"
"You know what to do to make me regain my appetite,"
"Fine," she sighed tiredly at him, leaning in closer. Their lips collided softly, and just as they were lost in the moment, someone secretly took a photo of them kissing.
After a moment, they pulled away, resting their heads on each other's shoulders.
"I love you," Alex said, his voice filled with emotion. They both chuckled.
