After Nathan finished talking with the doctor, he thanked him for taking care of Alex.
"Can we go home now? I know everyone is worried,"
"Yes, the whole kingdom thought you were dead. Your photos are everywhere in the air,"
"Am I the only survivor?"
"I have no idea. Thousands were found dead, and few were not seen. But I'm happy you're alive and strong," Nathan said, and they smiled at each other.
"Did the doctor say I can be discharged today?".
"No, tomorrow morning. Even if you're discharged today, we can't go home. It's late already,"
"Call home and inform them I'm alive and okay," he said, and Nathan dialed King Luke's number.
In the big city, King Luke was pacing in his throne room with his family seated on the sofa, including Nathan's family, still reeling from the news of the prince's death. Just then, one of the guards came with a phone and handed it to the king with a bow. King Luke saw it was Nathan calling and picked up.
"Hello, Nathan," he said, and everyone turned to him. "Did you find my son's remains?" he asked, sadly.
"No, Your Majesty, but I did find him alive and healthy," Nathan said from the other end of the phone.
"What are you saying? I don't get you," King Luke asked, looking confused.
"I have good news, Your Majesty. Tell everyone not to worry anymore. The crown prince is alive and right now he's here with me," Nathan said, and the king let out a gasp.
"What? My son is alive!" he exclaimed, and everyone rushed to him, their faces filled with shock.
"You can speak to him," Nathan said, and the king quickly put the phone on speaker for everyone to hear.
"Hello, Dad," Alex's voice came from the other end of the phone, and everyone gasped in shock.
"Alex!" Queen Lala exclaimed.
"Alex, is this really you?" Diva asked, her voice filled with emotion.
"It's me. I'm fine. You all don't need to worry anymore," Alex said, and the whole room erupted into joy and jubilation.
They chatted with him happily, asking questions and sharing their relief. Mrs. Ruth and the maids were overjoyed, hearing Alex's voice and couldn't wait to see him tomorrow.
Soon, Nathan posted on his Instagram about the prince being alive, sharing photos of them together. The post went viral, and everyone was happy about the good news. TV stations picked up the story, and Nathan even made a video of Alex addressing everyone, confirming that he was alive and had survived the plane crash.
Everyone was pleased by the news, and the palace was filled with joy and celebration. Mrs. Ruth tried to call her daughters to inform them of the good news, but their phones weren't connecting, including Mr. Daniels. She decided to wait and call them tomorrow, knowing they would be thrilled to hear about Alex's survival.
Everyone went to sleep that night with smiles on their faces, except for Naomi, who still locked herself in her room, ignoring Mia and her father's words.
The next morning, Mia was preparing breakfast in the kitchen when Mr. Daniels emerged from his room and headed to the dining area. Mia served him breakfast.
"Let me see if I can get Naomi out of the room," Mia said, turning to leave. Just then, her cell phone rang. She saw it was her mom and picked up.
"Mia, what's happened to your phone and your sister's? I've been trying to reach you girls, and your dad's number wasn't going through too," Mrs. Ruth said from the other end of the phone.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I guess it's network issues. How is everyone in the palace? How are they holding on?"
"There's going to be a feast here. I was trying to reach you girls last night to tell you the good news," Mrs. Ruth replied.
"A feast in the palace and what good news?" She asked, confused.
"The crown prince is alive," Mrs. Ruth announced, and Mia gasped.
"What did you just say, Mother?" She asked
"Exactly, my dear. He was found alive. Right now, he and his friend are on their way to the palace. The whole city is booming with joy over him being a survivor. That's why the royal house is holding a feast for his return home,"
Mia was still in shock. "Mom, please tell me this isn't a joke,"
"It's not! He's alive and healthy. He survived the crash," she replied, and Mia let out a scream of joy.
"Naomi!" She screamed her name, rushing to inform her of the good news after hanging up the call. Mr. Daniels stared at her, confused, and then followed her to confirm what was happening.
Mia rushed to the door and started banging on it.
"Sis! Open up! Alex is alive!" she exclaimed, continuing to knock.
"Alex is alive?" Mr. Daniels asked, surprised.
"Yes, Mom just called to say he survived and right now he's heading home with his friend. He's alive!" Mia said excitedly.
Then Naomi opened the door, her face swollen from excessive tears and dark circles under her eyes.
"Alex is alive?" she asked, her voice low.
Mia quickly hugged her in excitement. "Yes, sis! He's alive! He survived! He's heading to the palace!" she said, and Naomi quickly pulled away and rushed out.
"Follow her," Mr. Daniels ordered, and Mia nodded, following her sister.
Meanwhile, at the palace, everyone was busy preparing for Alex's return. A lot of food was prepared to entertain everyone, and everything was set. They all went outside, standing by the door entrance, waiting for their arrival. Elora and Diva held each other, beaming with excitement and eagerly waiting for Alex. A few press members were allowed inside to take photos of the moment.
Soon after, two convoys drove into the palace building, and Alex stepped out with a white bandage still wrapped around his head. His mother screamed excitedly and rushed to hug him tight, with the rest joining in. Excitement and tears filled everyone's eyes.
"My son is back," Queen Lala cried in joy.
"I'm so happy you came back to us," Diva said, holding him.
Then they pulled away from him, and Elora rushed into his arms again.
"I thought I lost you," she sniffled, and Alex held her for a while.
"Good to have you back, son," King Luke said happily, patting his shoulder.
Naomi and Mia arrived at the palace, and the gate was already open. They rushed inside and stood at the other gate, staring far at the scene that was going on in the palace building. Naomi felt relief in her heart as she saw Alex with his family.
"Truly, he is alive and healthy," Mia said happily.
Naomi held tight to the gate, feeling grateful for his survival. She could only get to see him over here, and she was happy she did. Tears filled her eyes, and she smiled happily.
As they were going inside, Alex stopped and turned to the gate. His eyes met Naomi's, and he felt a rush of emotions. He was about to take a step when Diva and Elora held his arms, smiling unaware of Naomi and Mia's presence at the gate.
"Let's go in," Elora said, and they all went inside while Alex kept turning his back to look at Naomi.
After some moments, Naomi and Mia turn to leave, Mia held her arm and they walk away. Inside the palace, everyone was seated in the dining room filled with different varieties of mouthwatering meal. They started eating and jubilating, while Alex was calm reeling from the way he saw Naomi, he could feel her pain and weakness in her eyes, Nathan observed his distance and lean closer to him.
"Are you ok?".He asked quietly and Alex turn to him and he knew he was bothered. "We can talk after dinner" He said and return to his meal.
Alex sighed and continued eating slowly, still lost in the sight of Naomi. Some minutes later, after the evening feast, Alex and Nathan entered the room.
"You want to tell me what's bothering you?" Nathan asked, noticing Alex's distant look.
"I saw Naomi earlier," Alex said, his eyes gazing into the distance.
"Really? Where?".
"At the main exit gate. I could see the pain mixed with weakness in her eyes. Do you think she was worried about me?" Alex asked, his voice filled with emotion.
"Exactly! What do you expect? Everyone was deep in shock when your name was mentioned among the victims who died in the plane crash. She was affected too,"
"I want to see her. You have to help me,"
"Do you want me to bring her here or do you want to go to her house?" Nathan asked, understanding his concern.
"Her house. I just want to see her and let her know I'm perfectly fine," he said, and Nathan sighed, knowing that this might not be as simple as Alex thought.
