The secretary returned to Diva's office to inform her that the assistant manager had gone out for lunch, but Diva was nowhere to be found. The secretary let out a sigh of relief before heading back to her own office.

Meanwhile, Alex came out of his office and made his way to the canteen, scanning the room for Naomi. Not finding her, he wondered where she might be and sighed, deciding to look further. After a moment of searching, he headed to the rooftop and spotted Naomi seated alone, eating her snacks.

"There you are," he said, and Naomi flinched, standing up quickly.

 "Boss," she sputtered.

"What are you doing here alone?" He moved closer, his smile gentle.

"Um, nothing."She hesitated, hiding her snacks behind her back.

 "What are you hiding?"

 "It's nothing."
Alex chuckled, brushing it off. "Um, why are you here?"

"To find you, of course. I went to the canteen, you weren't there. I also checked your office."

"Um, yeah, is there something you want me to do for you?" She asked and Alex's gaze drifted away, his eyes fixed on the city view.

"It's such a nice view here," he said, and they stood in quiet contemplation for a moment. "I'll be leaving for a business trip," he said, turning to her. "I'm going away for three days."

"Um, okay. I wish you safe travels," she replied, her voice soft.

"Will you be okay?" he asked, She raised her face to him, looking confused. "I know you're trying to avoid my sister, knowing she works here now," he said.

"I know. I promise not to cause trouble for you before you come back," she said, and Alex sighed, closing the gap between them.

"I know it's going to be hard for you here, but can you promise me something," he said, his eyes locked on hers.

"What?" she asked,

"Promise me you'll look after yourself before I return. Promise me you'll try to avoid my sister and don't take whatever she might do to you to heart," he said, concerned.

"I...you don't have to worry about that. I'm used to her already, so I'm not bothered by it. But I promise to keep my distance and respect her since she's the new manager. I'll do as an assistant would do," she said, and Alex's lips curved into a gentle smile.

They stood there, locked in a piercing gaze, and she shifted uncomfortably.

"Can I ask you something?" he asked.

"Sure," Naomi said, her voice soft.

"If I go on this business trip and come back, promise to go watch a movie with me,"

" Why are you sounding like something is going to happen to you while you're on a trip?" she asked, and Alex let out a little laugh.

"You can't predict what might happen tomorrow. I just need something to hold onto, just in case," he said, his words sending a shiver down Naomi's spine.

"I'm not feeling this, Alex. Why am I not comfortable with your words? It's kinda scary,"  her  anxiety spiked.

"Can you promise me?" he asked.  Naomi hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Let me hear you say it," he pressed, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Yes, I will watch a movie with you,"

"I'm happy to hear that. Don't worry, I promise to return safe now that there's something ahead to hold onto," he said, his breath whispering against her skin.

As he pushed closer, Naomi's heart skipped a beat. She closed her eyes tightly and turned her face away, but before she could react further, Alex snatched the snack she had been hiding behind her back.

"Gotcha! So this is what you've been hiding," Alex said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. He took a bite of the snack, his eyes closing in appreciation. "Hmm, tastes nice," he said.

Naomi stood staring at him, a mixture of emotions swirling inside her. As she watched him savor the snack, a smile curved her lips, and she was transported back to their happy moments as kids.

    ★Nathan's company★

Mia yawned, her eyes drooping as she rested her head on the table, surrounded by files. Before she knew it, she had drifted off to sleep. When she finally stirred, she opened her eyes to find Nathan's face inches from hers. At first, everything was blurry, but as her vision cleared, a smile spread across her lips. She thought she must be dreaming.

"Are you having a sweet dream?" Nathan asked.

Her eyes fluttered closed, and then she opened them again, her gaze locking onto Nathan's. She reached out a hand, her fingers brushing against his cheek.

"Maybe it's a dream, but it feels like you're real," she whispered, and then pinched his cheek.

Nathan let out a soft groan, and Mia's eyes widened in shock as she realized this wasn't a dream. As she tried to raise her head, her lips brushed against Nathan's, sending a spark of electricity through her body. The touch was soft and fleeting, but it left her breathless. Mia's eyes widened in shock as she pulled away, her hand instinctively covering her mouth.

The moment hung in the air, charged with tension. Nathan's eyes seemed to bore into hers, his look unreadable. Her face burned with embarrassment as she realized what had happened. Their lips had touched, and the sensation still lingered.

"You have two offenses already," he said. "You not only slept on duty, but also stole a kiss from me."

"Am sorry ". She apologized profusely.

She stood up and rushed to the restroom, leaning against the door as she tried to calm her racing heart.

When she finally emerged, she glanced around the office, relieved to see that Nathan was nowhere in sight.

"Thank goodness, he's gone," she whispered to herself.

But then she heard his voice behind her.

 "Says who?"

Her heart skipped a beat as she turned to see Nathan leaning against the wall, a knowing glint in his eye.

 "Y-you're still here," she stuttered.

"Yes, why wouldn't I be?".

"Um, I'm sorry about what happened earlier. It wasn't intentional."

"What exactly are you apologizing for? For sleeping on duty or stealing a kiss from me?" He tease.

"Um, for sleeping on duty... I was tired after finishing up my work... and for..." Her cheeks flushed as she avoided eye contact, and then gulped,  "I didn't mean that either. You were too close, I didn't do that intentionally."

Nathan's smile grew wider as he shook his head. He moved closer to her, his voice taking on a firm tone.

"You're clumsy, do you have to work yourself too hard? If you know the work is too much, just leave it. I don't want you to get sick. If you do, you'll be punished."

"I promise I won't."

"That's good to know. Anyway, take a rest. See you soon." He patted her head gently, his touch sending a flutter through her chest, and left with a smile.

As soon as Nathan was gone, Mia let out a little sigh and sank into her chair. She groaned, resting her face on the table.

"Why is he so hard to resist?" she thought, a smile spreading across her face.

She raised her head, a happy laugh escaping her lips.

"His lips are so soft and hypnotizing." The memory of their brief kiss lingered, leaving her feeling dreamy and distracted.

Nathan's smile was still plastered on his face as he entered his office, feeling energized from the sudden kiss. He swung around, his eyes gleaming with amusement, and sat down at his desk. His cell phone rang, and he picked it up without checking the caller ID.

"Hello," he said, still smiling.

But his expression froze as he listened to the news on the other end of the line. His smile gave way to shock, and he stood up quickly, his voice rising in alarm. "WHAT??"

The news spread like wildfire through the city, and soon, the airplane crash was being broadcast on every news channel. The royal family was shocked, their faces pale with worry.

"Is this the same plane Alex boarded?" Queen Lala asked, her voice trembling with fear.

"Let's not have negative thoughts."

But before he could finish, Diva burst into the room, panicking. "Mom, Dad!"

"Diva, did your brother travel to his trip with this airline?" She asked as she grab onto her shoulders firmly.

"Yes, Mom, that's the same airline he boarded..."

"No, Alex will never be on the plane... that's not his plane." Queen Lala's face crumpled as she began to sob.

King Luke stood beside her, his face etched with worry, as he prayed that his son was safe.

"I believe that too, Mom. He will call once he arrives. We shouldn't have negative thoughts."

The news continued to broadcast, listing the names of the victims, and everyone's eyes were glued to the TV. The workers in the office were in a state of panic, praying that Alex was not among the victims.
