MY DAUGHTER'S NANNY
TAG: Love and betrayal.
Days flew by, and Ji-soo became a recluse in her room, refusing to come out or answer any knocks on her door. She locked herself in to avoid seeing anyone and turned off her phone to evade all contact.
Meanwhile, her uncle and aunt visited her home several times, desperate to find her after receiving serious threats from the pot-belly man. He demanded they either return his money or bring his wife to him. They were frantic, searching for Ji-soo everywhere.
"We're doomed. Why did she suddenly disappear?" Hye-ji exclaimed.
"Her cell phone isn't connecting, and nobody's seen her around," her husband replied.
"What if that old man has her and is just playing a prank on us?" Hye-ji suggested.
"I don't think so," his wife said. "I'm sure she ran away just to land us in trouble." Their Worry deepened as they continued their search.
On a different note, Min-soo asked his PA to investigate the old man's relationship with Ji-soo. The evidence revealed that Ji-soo had been sold to the man by her uncle out of greed. Min-soo sighed after reviewing the documents.
"Sir, the investigation team has obtained the CCTV footage you requested," his PA said, interrupting his thoughts. Min-soo raised his face, his expression intense.
"They did," the PA confirmed.
"Yes, sir. They've sent the video, and I've forwarded it to you," he said. Min-soo quickly picked up his phone to check.
"When did you send it?" Min-soo asked.
"Yesterday. I thought you'd received it already," the PA replied.
Min-soo searched through his phone and found the video. Just as he was about to click on it, a phone call came through. Seeing that it was Ji-mi's teacher, he answered.
"Hello," he said, listening intently for a moment before standing up with a shocked expression. "What?!"
Meanwhile, Ji-soo was tidying up her room, ignoring the constant bell ringing at her door. She paused when she heard a familiar voice calling out to her.
"Nanny! Nanny! Open up!" Ji-mi exclaimed, continuing to press the bell.
The door opened, revealing Ji-soo's shocked face.
"Ji-mi!" Ji-soo called out in surprise. Ji-mi rushed in and hugged her tightly, smiling.
"I missed you, Nanny," she said, her voice filled with joy. Ji-soo remained surprised as she hugged Ji-mi back.
Min-soo rushed back to Ji-mi's school after the teacher informed him that Ji-mi was nowhere to be found on the premises. She had suddenly gone missing during lunch break. Min-soo's panic was evident as he stormed into the principal's office, where he found Ji-mi's teacher waiting.
"Thank heaven you're here, Mr. Min-soo," the principal said, relief etched on his face.
"Where is my daughter?" Min-soo demanded, his anger simmering just below the surface.
"Calm down, sir, we—"
Min-soo cut him off. "Don't tell me to calm down! I left my daughter in your care, and now you're telling me she vanished from the school without anyone noticing where she went?"
"We're searching for her, sir. We've informed security to scour the area. We'll find her, I promise," the principal assured him.
"If anything happens to my princess, you all will pay dearly for it," he threatened, his voice cold and menacing. He turned and walked away, angrily.
"Gosh, we're doomed," the teacher whispered as Min-soo departed.
Min-soo got into his car and began making frantic phone calls, reaching out to everyone he knew in hopes of finding his daughter. As the driver pulled away, Min-soo's anxiety only grew, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios.
Ji-soo was stunned to see Ji-mi standing at her doorstep. After offering her water and food, they sat on the bed, facing each other.
"How did you find my address?" Ji-soo asked.
"I showed the taxi driver your address, and he brought me here," Ji-mi replied.
"That was risky, Ji-mi. What if you were kidnapped? And how did you find my address?"
Ji-mi pulled out a small journal from her bag.
"I found this in your locker when I was looking for a way to reach you. Your address was written inside."
"You ran away from school?" Ji-mi nodded, and she stood up. "I have to take you back." But Ji-mi stopped her.
"Please, Nanny, let me stay here tonight. I don't want to go back."
Ji-soo hesitated, weighing the consequences.
"Your dad will be worried sick, and it will put me in trouble."
"Just for tonight, I promise I won't cause any trouble."
"What if your dad files a missing report?" Ji-mi's face fell silent, "I will take you to him". She turned to leave. That's when Ji-mi suddenly feigned a fall, screaming in pain.
"Ji-mi!" She panicked, rushing to her side.
"My leg, I have a cramp!" She cried out.
Meanwhile, Ji-soo's uncle and his family were being held captive by the pot-belly man in a dark room deep within his mansion. They were tied up, their mouths gagged to prevent them from screaming.
"This will be your fate until you return my money or bring my wife," the man growled.
As he left the room, he ordered his men to find Ji-soo and bring her to him. They obeyed, setting out on their mission.
*Min-soo mansion*
Min-soo paced around the living room, his worry for his daughter's disappearance evident. Ha-yoon and Eun-seo sat nearby, their faces with concern.
"Where could she have gone?" Eun-seo wondered aloud.
"Sir, what if this is a kidnapping case?" Ma Ha-Yoon asked.
"They would have called for ransom by now," Eun-seo replied, her tone logical.
Min-soo's phone rang, and he answered without checking the caller ID.
"Any news?" he asked, his voice laced with desperation. But his face fell, and he hung up abruptly.
"Was that the police? What did they say?" Eun-seo asked.
"They can't continue the search until tomorrow," He replied, his voice heavy with frustration.
Eun-seo stood up and moved to console him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
"Don't worry, I'm sure she'll be fine. She'll return home safely tomorrow."
Min-soo sighed and pulled away, heading to his room. Eun-seo and Ma Ha-Yoon watched him go.
"Ji-mi, please be safe," Ma Ha-Yoon whispered.
"I just hope that lady didn't abduct her," Eun-seo said, her voice cold, referring to Ji-soo.
"I don't think she's responsible for Ji-mi's disappearance." She defended.
"You don't know what she's capable of, especially now that she's been fired. What if she's doing this to extract money from Min-soo?"
Min-soo lay on his bed, his fingers scrolling through photos of Ji-mi on his phone. The pain and fear in his eyes were palpable as he struggled to hold back tears.
"I'm sorry, sis," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "I think I failed you. I couldn't keep my promise. Please don't let any harm come to her. Please guide her."
Just then, a notification popped up on his Gmail. He opened the message, which led him to a video sent by his PA. As the video loaded, Min-soo's anticipation grew.
The CCTV footage revealed a shocking scene from the night of the incident. Min-soo's eyes widened in surprise as he saw Ji-soo, the woman he had been with, in a new light.
Meanwhile, Ji-soo gazed at Ji-mi, who was fast asleep on her bed. The weight of tomorrow's troubles hung heavy over her, and she knew she would be blamed for everything.
With a sigh, Ji-soo gently caressed Ji-mi's hair, her expression a mix of sadness and concern. The uncertainty of what was to come filled her with anxiety.
