The Millions—main owners of the city. They control the Grand Palace and are the most powerful beings existing. Pride is their armor, wickednes is their food, richness is their sign, and that even showed through their name. MILLIONS.

The Spectres—second owners of the city. They were the original owners, but they weren't as powerful. They completely lose their powers at midnight every night.

For this reason, The Millions family snatched the city from them, and they were made second-in-command.

The more slave a family has, the more their status elevate, and that's why both families are the major visitors of The Dark Room monthly to compete at the auctions.

Shayla's sale day finally came,, her cage was dragged out for auction in the Dark Room.

She watched the two families fight over her price, bidding hatefully with their bid-paddles, bloody voices and brutal utterances.

For the first time in years, The Spectres won over The Millions in the auction, but just as Shayla was about to get handed over to the Spectres, there was a turnaround.

A turnaround which reshaped her life—for worse, flinging her into the abyssal depth of darkness.
