★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

The royal family gathered around the breakfast table, enjoying their morning meal.

"Son, how's the company going?" King Luke asked.

"It's going great, just that there's a lot of work to do."

"That's not a problem. I'm sure you can handle it." Queen Lala said

"Diva, why don't you join your brother in running the company?" King Luke asked.

"No, Dad. I have other plans for myself. Working in your company isn't one of them. Alex can handle it."

"I think she's right. Besides, there's no available office for her. It's all occupied." Alex said.

"But the manager post is available."Queen Lala said.

"How? Albert is the general manager."

"Yes, but he's retiring soon."King Luke explained.

"How come I didn't know about it?"

"He said he's going to tell you about it soon."King Luke replied.

Alex sighed, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

"So, Diva, will you reconsider your decision?" She asked.

 "No, Mom."

Alex stood up, signaling the end of his breakfast.

"I'll be on my way now," he said, bidding his family goodbye before walking away.

Nathan arrived at his father's company, looking dashing in a well-fitted, expensive suit. His chiseled features and confident stride drew admiring glances from the staff, who couldn't help but stare.

As he walked towards the elevator, the others hesitated, unwilling to enter with him. Nathan stood alone, waiting for the doors to close.

Just as the doors were about to shut, Mia yelled from behind and rushed towards the elevator, slipping inside just in time. She stood behind Nathan, panting slightly.

Nathan stood calmly, a subtle smile on his face, his back to Mia. He didn't reveal his face to her.

Mia caught her breath and pulled out her phone, dialing Naomi's number. When Naomi picked up,

"Hey, I just arrived." After a brief pause, she continued, "Yeah, so lucky I was able to get on the elevator on time."

She chatted on, unaware of Nathan's identity behind her. "I guess, I heard some staff talking about it that the new CEO will be on seat today. Believe me, I have no idea who he is. I just hope he'll be kind and friendly. But nevertheless, I don't think I'll be bothered by it. My building is entirely different from his, so I won't even get close to him, only when maybe he calls for a meeting."

Nathan listened to her conversation, a warm smile spreading across his face. He remained calm, enjoying the moment.

"Yeah," she continued on the phone, rummaging through her bag. Suddenly, she let out a frustrated curse. "Shit!"

"I just forgot my lunch box," she said, disappointment evident in her voice. "Mom made something delicious for my lunch, and she knows the food at the canteen is so expensive. I can't believe I left it in the kitchen. How did I miss that?"

She waited for a moment, listening to Naomi's response. "What do I do now? I said I'd eat half of it when I got to my office since I didn't eat anything," she said, sighing tiredly.

She listened some more. "You left yours too?... Well, I guess we're done for it today. Luckily, I got some change in my bag. If I notice the work on my desk isn't much, I'll go to the other side of the company to get some snacks to keep me going for the day. You should do the same." She waited for a bit longer,  "Alright, talk to you later." After hanging up, she let out a sigh.

The elevator finally stopped on her floor, and she stepped out, without turning back to see the face of the man who had been standing in front of her in the elevator.

Nathan had already smiled and watched her rush off to her office before stepping back into the elevator. The doors closed, and it whisked him away, leaving Mia none the wiser about the identity of the man she had shared the elevator with.

Nathan settled into his exclusive office, chatting with some of the managing staff and his PA. Meanwhile, Mia was working at her desk, yawning repeatedly.

Just then, her secretary knocked and entered, holding a lunch box.

"Ma'am, this came in for you," she said firmly.

"For me? I didn't order a takeout." She said surprisedly.

"A delivery brought it here, and it said someone placed an order at their restaurant and had it delivered here." The secretary explained.

"Um, okay, thanks." She smiled forcedly.

The secretary smiled and left, shutting the door behind her. Mia drew the food closer, opened it, and was greeted by the delicious aroma. She couldn't bear the hunger anymore and prayed for the food and the unknown person who bought it before taking a bite.

The taste amazed her, and she savored each morsel.

Meanwhile, Nathan finished his meeting with the managing staff, thanking them for their commitment.

"Please gather all the staff for a meeting," he instructed his PA.

 "Okay, sir."His PA nodded.

As the others left, Nathan stood up, gazing out the window at the city below. A warm smile spread across his face as he recalled Mia's conversation in the elevator.

Some minutes later, the staff gathered in the meeting hall, murmuring among themselves. When Nathan entered with some staff members, the room fell silent as everyone stood up in respect.

Nathan took his seat, his PA beside him, and asked everyone to sit. As he scanned the room, he noticed Mia's absence.

"Um, are these all the staff we have?" he asked.

"No, sir. The only staff not here are from the sales department. They went out, and I'm sure they're on their way."The manager said as he stood up.

Nathan nodded and began addressing the staff.

*******

Naomi came out of the office, heading to the printer room, when she caught sight of Alex talking to someone downstairs. She quickly hid from view, not wanting to be seen.

She waited for him to leave, and when she peeked out to see if he was still there, she saw that he had already gone. Letting out a sigh of relief, she headed to the printer room.

Unbeknownst to her, Alex had seen her hiding and decided to play it cool before leaving.

Naomi finished her task in the printer room and gathered the files in her hands. As she turned to leave, she almost bumped into someone holding a stick of roses, pointing it at her. She was confused.

"Hey, this is for you," he said, smiling broadly at her. "I'm sure you don't know me, but I'm the guy who sent you flowers the other day."

"Oh, you're the anonymous man."

"Yes, my name is Ben. I'm one of the staff working here," he said.

"Oh, nice to meet you. Um, can you please excuse me? I need to get back to work." She said, But Ben blocked her path.

"Do you love those flowers?" he asked.

"Um, yeah. I'm sorry to say this, but I threw them away since I didn't know who sent them. Hope you're not angry."

"No, not at all. Now that you've seen me, would you mind going on a date with me?"

"Um, excuse me," she said politely and then managed to squeeze herself out from the room, but, she lost her footing, and the files flew out of her hands. Just as she was about to fall, a hand grabbed her waist and pulled her closer.

Their eyes interlocked, and the staff around them stared in surprise. Everyone was shocked to see the boss in a romantic position with his staff.

Naomi quickly regained her composure and pulled away from Alex, feeling embarrassed.

"Um, I'm sorry, sir," she said, bending down to pick up the files.

Two other staff members assisted her, while Alex adjust his suit and left for his office without a word.

As it turned out, Alex had been watching Naomi and Ben's conversation from afar. He had seen Ben pointing roses at her and had heard him ask her out on a date. When the incident happened, he was quick to grab Naomi to prevent her from falling.

Back at Nathan's company, Mia and her team arrived at the office. The manager asked the head of the department to see the CEO in his office, while the rest headed to their own offices.

Nathan was working on his desk when a knock came in. He ushered the person in, and the head of the department entered, giving a respectful bow.

"I heard you and your team went out. How did it go?" He asked firmly.

"Very well, sir. We managed to stabilize the sales, thanks to one of our new employee's idea."

"That's great. May I know whose idea it was?"

 "Um, Mia, my assistant."

"Okay, tell her to come to my office." He said politely.

"Yes, sir,"  he bow, before turning to leave.

As the door closed behind him, Nathan leaned back in his chair.
