MY DAUGHTER'S NANNY
TAG: Love and betrayal.
The next morning, Ji-mi was driving to school with her father.
"Daddy, I need your help," Ji-mi said.
"What help, sweetie?"
"Can I get 10 million won? I'll pay you back once I save up," Ji-mi said, and her father and the driver were stunned by her sudden demand.
"10 million won! What are you going to do with that type of money?"
"I want to use it, and it's not too big. I'll lend it back to you,"
"Do you know what 10 million won is? How many zeros are in it? What are you going to do with the money? Did your teacher ask you for it?"
"No, not my teacher. I want to lend it to my nanny,"
"Your nanny?" he repeated, and Ji-mi nodded. "Why? Did she tell you to extract money from me?" he asked coldly.
"No, she didn't. I want to lend her the money to treat her kid sister. I heard her last night talking to Granny about it. Her sister is really sick, and her uncle is planning on marrying her off to a man so they can get the money to treat her sick sister,"
"What? Marry her off?" he asked, surprisedly.
"Yes, I saw her crying last night about it. It's really hurting, Dad. You have to help her. 10 million won is all she needs to help her sister," Ji-mi said, looking pleadingly at her father.

Back at Ji-soo's uncle's house, the whole family gathered at the dining table, enjoying a spread of various dishes.
"Hmm, this is delicious," Hye-ji said, savoring the food.
"You can say that again. It's good to be rich," her mother said, mouthful.
"Indeed, this is what you get when you have money," the husband said.
"I don't want this to end. Ji-soo is indeed a blessing to this family," Hye-ji said.
"Yes, if we need more like this, we need to pressure her into marrying that old man," the husband said.
"She will. She has no choice. We just have to keep pretending and lying to her. She's too naive and has a good heart. She can't go against us," the wife said.
"Mom, we have to keep trying. I don't want to give up this beautiful life. I want to keep having blissful meals like this every day," Hye-ji said.
"Sure, dear. Our success is very close," the husband said, and they laughed and cheered.
*********
Days flew by, and Ji-soo kept receiving phone calls from her uncle, begging her to accept their demands. He emphasized that her sister was close to dying, and Ji-soo was torn between her own choices and her sister's fate.
Meanwhile, Ji-mi continued to try to persuade her father to help Ji-soo with the money, but Min-soo urged her to stay out of other people's business.
After much pressure from her uncle, Ji-soo decided to go on a date with the man they wanted her to marry. She waited in the restaurant her uncle had arranged for her to meet the man. Unbeknownst to her, Min-soo was also in the restaurant, having lunch with his clients. They were seated far from each other, and Ji-soo had no idea he was there.
Soon, the old man with a pot belly entered the restaurant with two escorts. When he spotted Ji-soo, he was captivated by her beauty. Although her uncle had already sent him a photo of her, he was still taken aback. He moved to join her, and Ji-soo was surprised.
"Wow, you're so beautiful," he said, and Ji-soo stared at him in disgust.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"I'm your husband-to-be. Didn't your uncle tell you about it?" he replied, and Ji-soo was shocked as reality set in.
Min-soo caught a glimpse of Ji-soo with the old man and was surprised to see her, but Ji-soo didn't notice him.
"You!" Ji-soo exclaimed.
"Exactly! You're just my type. I chose well," the old man said, smiling, and Ji-soo sighed tiredly.
"I don't believe I was betrothed to a man old enough to be my father," she said.
"Don't look at me like that. I'm a young man, and I can take care of you," he said, smiling. "What would you like to eat?" he asked, but Ji-soo stood up.
"I'm sorry. I have to go. I can't do this," she said and rushed out of the restaurant before the old man could respond.
Ji-soo uncle received a harsh phone call from the old man after he told them how ji-soo embarrassed him in front of everyone. He threatened to get his money back if they refused to bring his wife to him.
" I am sorry, I will talk to her".He said and the call got disconnected.
"What did he say?"The wife asked looking worried.
"We are in trouble, ji-soo has ruined everything for us".
"How?". Hye-ji asked.
"He said ji-soo shamefully disgrace him at the restaurant, he has threatened to get back his money".
"Oh no!".The wife said.
"Why is ji-soo like this". Hye-ji grumble.
"Were we will find the remain of the money if he came back for it, we have spent almost half of the money".The wife said.
"I don't know, but I need to caution her, because I can't miss my chance of becoming rich because of her".He said and left for his room.
Hye-ji and her mother sighed looking disturbed.
*Min-soo mansion*
Ji-soo stepped into the dimly lit living room, the moon's silvery glow casting an eerie ambiance. She had spent the entire day lost in thought at the amusement park, her mind consumed by the ominous messages from her uncle. As she turned to head to her room, a low voice startled her.
"Where have you been?" Min-soo's voice cut through the silence, his eyes gleaming in the darkness as he sat at the mini bar.
"Um, good day sir, I am...".She sputtered.
"You are what?".he asked coldly.
"I...I went to see someone," she stammered.
"Someone?" he repeated, Without another word, he stood up and walked away, leaving Ji-soo feeling like a scolded child.
The next morning, Ji-soo served breakfast to Min-soo and Ji-mi, her phone buzzing incessantly in her pocket. She ignored it, knowing who was calling. Min-soo's sharp gaze caught her attention.
"If you're not going to answer it, turn it off," he said curtly.
"I am sorry sir". She apologized and silenced her phone, as she continued serving breakfast. Once she finished, she retreated to her room, leaving Min-soo and Ji-mi to their meal.
As they ate, Min-soo noticed Ji-mi's sullen demeanor.
"What's wrong, princess?" he asked, "You're not eating."
Ji-mi looked up, her eyes clouded with sadness.
"I'm hungry," she said.
Before Min-soo could respond, she stood up and walked away, leaving him looking tired and perplexed.
Ji-soo answered the call, and her uncle's harsh scolding poured out.
"Ji-soo! What have you done? Do you want your only sister to die?" he yelled angrily.
"Uncle, I'm sorry, but I can't do it. That man is old enough to be my father," Ji-soo replied, desperation creeping into her voice.
"He's not your father! Your sister is dying slowly, and you're just going to watch her die?" her uncle retorted.
"We can find another way to get the money, not from him,"
"Do you think if we had another way, we would ask you to marry him? We have no way but his way. He's our only hope. The doctor has given us two weeks to get the money, or your sister won't survive," her uncle said, his voice laced with urgency. Ji-soo sighed sadly. "Please, don't do this to us. Please, for your sister's sake," her uncle pleaded.
Meanwhile, Ji-mi sat on her bed, staring sadly out the window. Min-soo entered and sat beside her. "You want to tell me what's wrong?" he asked softly. "Ji-mi, please talk to me," he coaxed.
"Dad," she called, looking into his eyes. "Do you hate Nanny?"
"No, I don't hate your nanny. Why would you say that?"
"Then why are you cold towards her? She looks scared whenever you're around,".
"Princess, I don't hate her. I'm just trying to caution her whenever she makes a mistake,"
"Please, Dad, don't hate her,"
"I told you I don't... Is that why you haven't eaten your breakfast?" He asked smiling.
"I... I," she stammered.
"Come on, don't be. Let's go to the dining room before it gets cold," he said, taking her hand.
