Later, they sat at the dining table, eating their meal. Rohan couldn't help but steal gazes at Arya, his eyes filled with affection.
"Why were you drunk last night?" she asked.
Rohan hesitated, his eyes darting around the room. "Um, I was just having fun with my friend," he sputtered.
"Was your friend drunk too?" she asked. Rohan avoided her gaze, his face turning sheepish.
"Um, I am sorry. It won't happen again."
"Hope so." She said, playfully.
Rohan's eyes met hers."Do you know who brought me home last night? Was it Abhi?" He asked.
"Who is Abhi?" she asked.
"My friend."
"No, it was Kiara who brought you home last night."
"Kiara?" he asked, "Why?".
"I don't know, I was surprised as well when I saw her bring you home." She said and Rohan's confusion deepened, and he sighed.
"Never in my life will I get drunk again. Abhi is such a dimwit. Who knows, if I get drunk again, he'll ask an assassin to take me home."
She tried to stifle a laugh, her eyes shining with mirth. "Maybe that will teach you a lesson."
Rohan stared lovingly at her. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For not leaving me alone with Kiara. Thank you for staying over."
"You are welcome."
They continued eating, the atmosphere between them filled with warmth and affection.
★KABIR'S MANSION★
The family gathered around the breakfast table, including Karan, who had just returned from his trip.
"I was mainly going to ask, where is Arya? Isn't she awake?"Jash asked,
Kiara and Samara exchanged a knowing glance, their eyes sparkling with secrets.
"She's not home. She went to Rohan's place last night."Grandma Viti said, her face , matter-of-fact.
The room fell silent, with everyone's eyes widening in surprise. Karan's eyebrows drew together.
"Rohan?" he asked.
Grandma Viti nodded. "Yes."
"How desperate can she be, sleeping in a man's house that isn't her husband yet?"Sonia said, disapproving.
"She's not doing anything wrong." Zara said.
"It's a good thing they're taking their relationship to the next level." Roshni said.
"I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just concerned. What if she got pregnant before marriage?"She said.
"Why is she different? Samara is also pregnant for Karan, and they haven't gotten married yet." Maya said, his face logical.
"She's different. She and Karan are getting married in a month's time." Gian's wife said.
"Can we all stop talking about this and focus on our meal? Let Arya and Rohan be. They're both adults, and they know what they're doing." Grandma Viti said.
"Grandma is right. Let them be. I'm sure soon enough, Rohan will do the needful." Ved said, supporting.
The room fell silent once again, with everyone returning to their meal, the tension dissipating.
Some minutes later, Rohan drove Arya home, and they walked together to the living room. As they entered, everyone turned to their direction, their faces filled with curiosity.
"Arya!" Maya called out excitedly, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
Arya smiled, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Rohan greeted the family with his hands together. "Good day, everyone."
"How are you doing, Rohan?" Grandma Viti asked.
"I'm fine, Grandma."
"You're welcome, Rohan. Come take a seat." Roshni said
Rohan sat down, while Arya excused herself and headed to her room.
Maya offered Rohan a cup of water. "Here."
Rohan took a sip, his eyes meeting Maya's in gratitude. "Thank you."
The family continued talking, their conversation flowing easily.
Meanwhile, Arya walked along the passage road to her room when she came across Karan heading in her direction. Their eyes met, and Arya quickly turned to leave.
"Arya." He called out.
Arya stopped, waiting for his reply. "Yes?"
"Um...it's nothing. I'm sorry." He hesitated.
He walked away, leaving Arya staring after him.
Karan walked into the living room, a bright smile on his face.
"Rohan!" he called out happily, moving to shake hands with him.
"How was your trip? When did you come back?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with interest.
"This morning." He replied.
"That's good. How did it go?" he asked, and they continued talking, their conversation flowing easily.
Meanwhile, Kiara, who had been feeling uneasy since Rohan and Arya walked in, stood up and walked away, her face darkening.
She entered the room where Samara was alone, frowning as she moved to sit on the bed.
"What's it, Kiara?" she asked.
"I'm fed up. I don't want Arya to win. I want Rohan. We need to come up with another plan."
"Don't worry, I have another plan."
"You do?" she asked, curiously.
Samara nodded, moving closer to Kiara. She started whispering in her ear, a conspiratorial look on her face.
Back in the living room, Rohan stood up to leave.
"I shall be on my way now," he said, his eyes scanning the room.
"Okay, thanks for coming. My regards to your parents." Jash said, politely.
"I will."Rohan smiled.
Karan stood up. "Let me see you off."
Rohan hesitated, looking upstairs to see if Arya was coming down. Grandma Viti noticed his gaze.
"Are you waiting for Arya?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Um, yeah. I'm sure she must be tired. I'll call her later to let her know I left already."
"Okay, take care." She said.
Rohan bowed in respect to the family and then left with Karan. Not too long after, Arya came out of her room, looking refreshed. She had gone inside to freshen up before joining the others in the living room.
"Did Rohan leave already?" she asked, scanning the room.
"Yes, maybe he's still outside with Karan."Ved said.
"Okay, excuse me."
She rushed outside to see Karan and Rohan giving each other a shoulder hug. Rohan was about to enter his car when Arya called out to him from behind. Rohan stopped and turned to her, Karan turning to face her as well. Arya moved closer to Rohan, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Why didn't you wait for me to come out before leaving?" she asked.
"I'm sorry, I thought you were tired and needed rest." He said holding her hands tenderly.
"I just went to freshen up."
"I can see that. Your hair smells nice." He said, flirtatiously.
Arya's cheeks flushed with a blush, and Karan couldn't stand the scene unfolding before him. He called out to Rohan one last time before turning to go inside.
Rohan turned back to Arya, his eyes locking onto hers. "So, Arya, when will I get an answer from you? Should I wait for it, or do you want to give me the answer now?"
"Rohan.....".She said nervously.
"You don't have to give me the answer now if you don't want to. I don't want to force you into doing anything. I'm willing to wait until you're ready."
"Who said I don't have an answer now?"
Rohan's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Is that a yes?" Arya nodded, a small smile playing on her lips."Really?".
"Yes."
Rohan's face lit up with joy as he pulled Arya into a warm hug. "Thank you, Arya. Thank you so much." He pulled away from her, caressing her cheeks. "You don't know how happy I am right now. Thank you for accepting me."
"I should be thanking you for accepting me and for coming into my life."
They pulled into another hug, their hearts filled with joy and love.
Meanwhile, Samara and Kiara watched them from the balcony, their faces twisted with anger and jealousy.
