Troy drove home and entered the living room. His eyes caught sight of an unfamiliar lady in the dining room eating fruit salad, and their eyes met.
Cindy's face turned curious. "Who are you?"
Troy's face turned surprised, and he raised an eyebrow. "I should be asking you that. Who are you?"
"I am Cindy, Shawn's wife, and you?" She said proudly.
Troy was shocked, and his eyes widened. "Excuse me!" he exclaimed. He started calling Shawn. "Shawn! Shawn!" he called loudly.
"Stop yelling, he is not home." She scoffed.
"How did you find your way into this house?"He asked confusedly.
"This is my house, and besides, Shawn knows I am here. We were together some hours ago before he left to God knows where." She continued eating, and Troy stared at her, confused.
Meanwhile, Shawn and Sofia were heading back home. They were seated in the backseat, holding hands. Sofia noticed the sad look on his face.
"Are you still worried about it?"She asked feeling concerned. Shawn's face turned troubled, and he sighed. "You have to stop thinking too much. I will stick with you in all these... I am happy you told me everything."
"I just don't want anything that will ruin my relationship with you. I want you and just you. I don't want Cindy to stand in our way."He said.
"Did you two sign a marriage contract?"
"No, Dad just blessed us together on his dying bed and made me promise to stick with her until she aged to marry. When that happens, I just promised him to be the man that will take her as a wife."
Sofia's face turned understanding, and she smiled to make him feel at ease. "Okay, I understand."
Shawn kissed her hand, and they smiled at each other.
Soon they arrived home, and they came down and walked inside holding hands. They paused to see Cindy in the living room operating her phone. Her face lit up immediately when she saw Shawn.
Cindy's face turned excited. "Honey!" She rushed to embrace him, but Shawn pushed back. Cindy's face turned feigned hurt.
"Why are you so mean? You left me all alone at the restaurant," she said.
Troy interrupted them from the staircase, his voice cold. "Shawn, can I have a word with you outside?" he said.
He climbed down and went outside. Shawn sighed and gave a signal to Sofia, then left to meet Troy.
Cindy stared hard at Sofia, but Sofia smiled forcedly at her and left for her room. Cindy hissed and sat down with her legs crossed.
Shawn kissed her hand, and they smiled at each other.

Outside the veranda, Troy and Shawn were engaged in a serious talk.
Troy's face turned serious. "You wanna explain what's going on? Who is that lady, and why is she referring to you as her husband?"
"That Cindy, she's my foster dad's daughter."He sighed.
"Huh? Your half-sister? I thought you were an only child to your foster dad; that's why he adopted you."He asked confusedly.
"No, he had a daughter too, but she was living with her mother and her stepfather outside the country. She sometimes comes here for holidays for a visit."
"So, how is she married to you? I don't understand?" His face turned puzzled.
"Dad made it happen. He blessed us on his dying bed and made me promise to be the man that will marry Cindy, and I gave him my word."He said regretfully.
"Tell me you didn't sign any marriage certificate."He asked curiously.
"I didn't."
"Thank goodness, but why is she here?"He was relieved.
"I don't know; I'm surprised as you are. After Dad died, she never came back, and I never heard of her. Now she's here."Shawn said tiredly.
"Does Sofia know about this?"
"Yes, I told her already; she knows."
"Good, so what do we do now?" He asked, and Cindy interrupted them, her face turned determined.
"It's simple, marry me. You already gave your word to Dad." They turned to her, their faces turned shocked.
Shawn's face turned incredulous. "You think I will do that?"
Cindy's face turned confident. "Of course, you made a promise, remember."
"That will not happen, he already has someone else. Why not go back to the hell you came back from?" Troy yelled harshly.
"I don't care, and I guess it's that trash in there you are talking about."She scoffed.
"Don't you dare address her as trash, she is two times better than you. I will appreciate it if you leave, Cindy." He said angrily and he snapped at her.
"I am not leaving, I am here to stay and possess what's mine. You built this house with my father's money, so you don't tell me what to do." She hiss and stormed inside, leaving Shawn and Troy outside.
Troy's face turned concerned. "This is a big problem." Shawn sighed tiredly.
Sofia was in her room, fast asleep. Shawn knocked gently and entered to see her deep in sleep. He smiled and moved to sleep next to her, cuddling her warm into his arms.
"Shawn."her face was peaceful, and she muttered in her sleep.
"Sleep now, I am right here." He said and kissed her forehead. Soon, he fell asleep.

The next morning, Sofia opened her eyes to see Shawn smiling sweetly at her, and she blushed.
"Good morning." She greeted cheerfully.
Shawn's face turned loving, and he kissed her forehead. "Did you sleep well?"
"I did, what about you? Or did you keep yourself awake all night to be staring at me?" She said playfully.
"What if I say yes?" He teased and they chuckled. "Do you have morning class today?"
"No, I have by noon," she replied.
Shawn's face turned gentle."In that case let go freshen up and get ready for work". he kissed her lips softly. Then he stood up and left the room. Sofia smiled and fell back to bed.
Later in the afternoon, Sofia came out of the room dressed up to leave for school. She was surprised to see Cindy standing in front of her.
Sofia's face turned wary. "What are you doing?"
Her face turned cold, and she stared hard at Sofia. "What will it take for you to leave my man alone?"She asked."Name your price, and I will give it to you," Cindy added.
"Can you please get out of my way? I am running late for school." She walked past her.
Cindy's face turned bitter. "Do you think he loves you?" Sofia stopped walking and turned her back against Cindy. "Shawn never loved anybody; he only loves himself. It will be best for you if you leave now that you still have the chance."
She smirk, and she turned to Cindy. "If truly he loves himself alone, then why are you forcing yourself on him, knowing fully well he doesn't give a fvck about you!" Sofia said harshly.
Cindy's face turned angry, and she scoffed. "I know him very well; we grew up together. We are destined to be together, but you... he is going to use and dump you because you want to know why?" Her face turned cruel. "You are just a slave to him; that's what he told me the moment you started living with him." She laughed evilly, seeing the look on Sofia's face, and walked away.
