Alexander's POV
I'm feeling stresséd and exhà usted, and all I want is to go home to Alice. She has become my sanctuary—home, and I can't imagine life without her. She's been the one constant in my life. If she were to leave, everything would go back to the way it was before she came into my life.
My father is ready to make my life even more miserà ble than it was before Alice arrived, and I wasn't prepared for that. I thought it was all over, but then Madison happened. She started talking again and put me in a difficult position.
I'm absolutely certain of what my father is capable of; he's willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants. He previously wanted Alice out of my house, and now he wants her out of my life. I'm scaréd of what he might do to make it happen.
I acknowledge that my desire to keep her here may seem sélfish, but I'm at a loss.
What should I do when my heart has started beating again? How can I turn away from the comfort I find in her arms? What am I to do when every aspect of her captivates me?
Alice is flawless. From her flowing hair to her radiant eyes, her delicate nose, and her alluring, crimson lips, she is perfection personified. Every little gesture she makes is enchanting—the way she nibbles her lower lip when she's nervous, curious, or teasing, how she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear with a delicate finger, the sparkling joy in her emerald eyes when she smiles, the melody of her laughter, the warmth of her hugs, and the hypnótic effect of every single thing she does. Every nuance of her being holds me spellbound. I can't even begin to fathom what life will be like without seeing her again, without hearing her laugh, without seeing her eyes roll in annoyance, without her playful banter.
I strode into the living room and without wasting a single second, I ascended the stairs to the rooftop, knowing Alice would be there.
Opening the door, the light bulbs illuminated her like an angel, engrossed in another one of her captivating paintings. Her eyes met mine, and she gave me that smile—that smile that effortlessly lifted my spirits.
How can she have this much effect on me? She can brighten my day with just a smile. I rushed into her arms, and she welcomed me into her arms.
This is home, and I fear I might one day lóse it. I might one day lóse Alice.
I might lóse Alice one day. She's my oxygen, yet my poison.
I needed a swim; I was starving for both food and Alice's attention. She offered to cook something for me while I showered. Ascending the stairs was exhausting, but I made it to my room in one piece. I undressed before heading downstairs to pour myself a glass of champagne.
Moving to the back of the house where the pool resides, I set the glass on a table beside a recliner and leaped into the pool.
Submerged, I held my breath, relishing the sensation of drowñing underwater—it was exhilarating. Once I felt calm enough, I began to swim, savoring the cold water in the chilly air.
Tonight would be so cold, but fortunately, I had my own personal and private blanket to snuggle with all night. Alice came to call me, and I thought to myself, "Alexander, you should tease her again." I did tease her, expecting something to happen, but then that stupÃd thunder struck, forcing us out of the water against her wishes.
I sensed her hesitation in every movement. Then, something extraordinary happened.
Alice, for the first time, took the initiative and kissed me.
Technically, it was a peck, but, it was something. Baby steps, right?
Her emerald eyes met my joyful gaze. "Did that hurt you?" she asked, lowly.
Why would she even think that? I had yearned for this moment more than anything.
"No," I replied.
"Then why do you keep teasing me?" she inquired.
I enjoy teasing you because I love to see you breathless, to see you squirm, to witness the desire in your eyes. Is that reason enough?
"You don't like it when I tease you?" I asked, noticing her subtle head shake. "Then what do you want me to do?" I tried to hold her gaze, but it kept wavering.
Her hair clung to her face in the harsh rain. "I want you to kiss me," she said softly. Without hesitation, I fulfilled her wish.
My lips finally experienced the softness of hers. I had longed for this moment countless times, and now it was finally happening.
Dreams do come true.
It wasn't forceful, nor was it aggressive. It was somewhere in between. The desire we felt for each other was too intense for gentleness. I couldn't hold back, and neither could she. Our pace matched the alignment of our lips, our breaths unsteady. Drawing her closer to savor the sweet taste of her tongue, it was reminiscent of strawberries. Slowly, and breathless, she parted her lips from mine.
"I like the champagne," she said.
"And I like your lips," I replied, honestly.
"Oh, really?" Her eyes lit up with mischief and a hint of naughtiness. "I don't see you doing anything, though."
"Don't start what you can't finish, Kitten," I cautioned, struggling to maintain control. I had worked hard to rein in my impulses, lest I succumb to desire and fúck her under the rain with the moon as our witness.
"And who told you that I can't finish it, huh?" Alice's seductive flirtation was dangerously enticing.
"Alice..." The whispered word escaped my lips. Yes, I desired her, and she desired me in return.
I'm scaréd. My heart racing with the realization that I was already deeply drawn to her. If anything more were to happen between us, it would be catastrophÃc.
She exhaled, her gaze unwavering as she locked eyes with mine. "I want you," she confessed.
As I said before, if anything happens between us, that will be a catà strophe. I was willing and ready to undergo that disastróus event.
