Alice's POV

Today marked the second day of sitting in Alexander's car while he drove. His Audi A6 was impressively fast, zooming and speeding down the road.

I couldn't help but daydream about the future, a day when Alexander and I would embark on a long drive, perhaps with me sticking my head out of the sunroof and the window. But for now, I was occupied with ordering ice cream for our impending ice cream party with Alexander. It was going to be amazing and, undoubtedly, loads of fun.

I looked at him, my lips curved into a smile. Just gazing at Alexander made me smile. He had been distant and cold initially, but now he was as sweet as candy, though he still had his issues—don't we all? Baby steps, I thought.

Watching him drive was fascinating. His hands maneuvered the steering wheel with such precision, as though he were born to be behind the wheel. While the silence was comfortable, I craved the sound of his voice, particularly its seductive tone.

I decided to break the silence by turning on the music. I knew I couldn't sing well, but I didn't mind; music made me happy. Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" began playing, and I couldn't resist singing along. I'm a swiftie, after all.

Nice to meet you, where you been?

I could show you incredible things

Magic, madness, heaven, sin

Saw you there, and I thought

"Oh my God, look at that face

You look like my next mistake

Love's a game, wanna play?"

Ayy

I sang along with the music, enjoying the beat and flow until it stops. I looked at Alex and he was shaking his head.

He stopped the music.

"Why?" I draw out, wincing.

"I'm driving." He replies with a monchalant tone.

"So, it doesn't mean I can't listen to music," I said. "That song is a great song," I attempt to turn it back on but he covers it with his hand. "Alex, stop being a bully and drive."

"I'm driving."

"Keep your eyes on the road." I snapped.

"Promise you won't play that song. You have an awful voice."

I know that. Awful is an understatement, my voice is so terrifyingly bàd. I have only one talent and that's to paint and draw, others, eisshh.

"Fine," He heaved a sigh, removing his hand from it. "Listen and sing to your stupid song."

'Cause we're young and we're reckless

We'll take this way too far

It'll leave you breathless, mmm

Or with a nasty scar

Got a long list of ex-lovers

They'll tell you I'm insane

But I've got a blank space, baby

And I'll write your name

"This isn't your stage, Princess," He informs, I ignored him. "Fúck."

After muttering the last word, he said something in Italian and boy, it sounded better than the first time I heard him speak it.

I quickly pressed mute on the song and faced him. "What did you say?"

He repeated it in Italian. I rolled my eyes, annoyed. I know he knows what I meant by that question, he was just teasing him.

I can tell from the self-satisfied grin on his face seeing my clueless face.

"Have I told you how much of a meanie jérk you are?" I asked him, resting on the thingie that divided us.

"No, but, please do."

"I haté you."

He scoffs, a cocky smirk on his face.  "Of course, you do." The sarcasm in his voice could be heard from a mile away.

That is how loud the sarcasm was.

What could he have said? Now, I regret not being trilingual.

••

I changed into a more comfortable clothes and went downstairs.

Alexander was seated on the sofa, changing the channels from one to another.

Earlier, I told him to choose the movie we should watch today. It was a bad idea. The first time we watched a movie together, he was contradicting everything in it and liked nothing about it, he had fun tho.

I went to the kitchen to bring the ice cream for us. I got only three flavours; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. I completely and utterly love chocolate.

I scooped out three scoops of all flavors, creating spaces between them in one bowl before repeating it in the another bowl. I put the ice cream bowls into the fridge before taking the two bowls to the living room.

He was still searching for something to watch when I reached him. I let out a loud groan, dropping the bowls on the table before taking the remote from him.

"What do you want to watch?" I asked him. "What genre?"

"Anything but romance or magic or heroes." He replied, crossing his legs.

What movie doesn't have those in them? Maybe there is a movie like that but will I enjoy it?

I bought out my phone to Google it. There were so many suggestions so I just picked one.

The name of the movie “Crawl” was totally simple. I had no idea if it will be interesting or not but I put it.

"I hope it doesn't..."

"It doesn't," I cut him off and he frowns. "It has no romance, or anything you mentioned." I pick up the bowls, giving him one and taking the other. He looked at the content of the bowl before taking it. "Why the hesitation?"

"Nothing, I have no idea what you are talking about."

The movie finally starts, my attention drifted over to the TV.  From the side of my eyes, I could see him poking the ice cream with the spoon.

"Alexander, stop being such a baby and eat the ice cream." I prattled, rolling my eyes.

Forget about an ice cream party, his ice cream will melt before he eats it.

He seemed kinda of hesitant before licking the cream off the spoon, his eyes on the TV.

Shortly, the movie takes a turn. It was a hurricane movie. It was raining so badly, the streets was flooded. Alligators swam in the streets, eating people as they tried to save themselves. All the neighborhood houses were completely flooded in and out. A father, his daughter and their dog tried to keep themselves alive until the rescue helicopter comes.

Throughout the movie, Alexander was quiet watching the movie with so much interest. It was satisfying to see him enjoy a movie and not criticize it.

We didn't have a ice cream party because I couldn't afford to miss anything in this movie neither could Alex. The maids weren't here either, they were at their quarters.

"Want to watch another?" I inquired after the movie finished. He shakes his head, yawning tiredly. "You're sleepy? You can go to bed. "

"No."

"No, what?" I asked, laughing. "You aren't sleepy or you don't want to go to bed?"

"The latter."

"Why?" I jokingly asked. "Is there a monstér under your bed?" He yawned again, momentarily closing his eyes. "Just go to bed, Alex. "

"I don't want to." He says, lowly trying to keep his eyes open.

"Let's go together. I'll stay with you," I suggested. He stares at me, tiredness in his eyes. "C'mon, Alexander. Let's go."

He reluctantly stood up and we head to his room. I sit on the sofa beside the windows.

"Lie down, I'm here."

He walks over to me, drawing me to the bed. He lies down on the bed, his head on my laps.

"This is better." He muttered, his breathing becoming calmer by the second.

My impulsive mind won as my hand went to his hair. I run my fingers through his extremely soft hair. He released a deep breath, repositioning his head on my laps.

"Good night." I whispered in his ear, playing with his hair.

Turns out that this big scary monster was a big soft baby looking for some TLC. Who would believe that a Màfia will want to rest his head on a girl's laps and sleep so peacefully?
