Life is short, it gets shorter with each passing day and each day we spend takes us closer to our very end.. It doesn’t matter how long one lives, it’s a natural order that everything with life must someday die.
A lot of things have happened in Ibadan, from the attack of the hell demons, to the failure of the government and the temporary victory of the witches.. Everything seemed so fine at first but little did we realize the worst was yet to come.
On this particular Saturday afternoon, Here I was at Morenike’s house working on an assignment with her, her parents had gone out leaving the 2 of us alone.
After we were done working on the assignment, we decided to head downstairs and watch TV.
I really wasn’t used to such contraption but I couldn’t help but admire the show that was going on the screen.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What’s this?

Morenike ➡ it’s Cartoon Network… Don’t you watch it at home?

Ebinoluwa ➡ We don’t have a flat screen back at home.. My mom hates noise.

Morenike ➡ So you’ve never watched Cartoons?

Ebinoluwa ➡ No..

Morenike ➡ Including Tom and Jerry?

Ebinoluwa ➡ No…. What’s Tom and jerry?

Morenike ➡ Hmm.. You’ve really missed alot. Hold on, let me go to the station that plays it.

After that, Morenike took the remote and began to switch channels until she stopped at one particular station that showed what she was talking about.
The Cartoon she was talking about look goofy and unintelligible but it was really interesting, I soon got fascinated by it and began to amuse myself.

Ebinoluwa ➡ This is crazy… So this is Tom and jerry?

Morenike ➡ Yes..

Ebinoluwa ➡ It’s very interesting..

Morenike ➡ You should ask your mom to allow your father to buy a television set so that you too can be watching.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Yeah… (As if that would happen).

For a while, More and I kept watching the silly cartoon on the screen and just when our excitement was getting higher, something unexpected and ominous happened.
In an instant, there was a tremor and sinister shockwave that make the earth vibrate for some seconds, the TV that we were watching switched off unexpectedly and the transformer outside suddenly exploded.

Morenike ➡ AHH… Nepa….. why now?

Ebinoluwa ➡ Shh.. This is not Nepa.

Morenike ➡ Ebi… Are…you…alright?

I never replied her cause my mind was more focused on something else, Something terrible was coming and I was getting a very bad feeling cause I could hear the Altros screeching outside the house.

Morenike ➡ Ebinoluwa.. What’s…going…on?

Ebinoluwa ➡ Come.. We have to leave now.
.
Morenike ➡ But…my…parents… They…said we….should…stay.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Something bad is going to happen.

Morenike ➡ What?

In that moment, Morenike’s parents walked into the house staring at us suspiciously,.

Bolaji ➡ What’s going on here?
.
Ebinoluwa ➡ Sir.. Ma, we have to leave this house.
.
Kemi ➡ Why?
..
Ebinoluwa ➡ Didn’t you all hear the tremor?
.
Bolaji ➡ We did but that’s not something new.. Let’s just calm down and relax.. Nothing is going to happen.

Kemi ➡ (screams) AHHHHHHH!!!

Immediately Mr. Bolaji made his last statement, A soul eater came into the house and s--+--d out every ounce of life in Bolaji’s body.
Soul eaters are demon’s from hell, they feed on lost souls that haven’t been judged yet, that is to say, they feed on souls that haven’t been transcended to paradise or descended to hell.
After the Soul eater was done draining Mr. Bolaji of his life, it threw down his drier corpse and turned it’s attention on Kemi and Morenike.
Mrs. Kemi was devastated when she saw what had happened, She screamed out loud in panic and grabbed hold of her daughter and I heading into the house..
Even I myself couldn’t believe what just happened, everything happened so fast that I couldn’t make a move, Even if I had tried the intervene, Mr. Bolaji was already done for.
Immediately we got upstairs, Mrs. Kemi locked her daughter and I in the room telling us to stay put that she was going to look for help.

Kemi ➡ Stay here girls… I’m going to call the police.
.
Morenike ➡ (crying) Mommy…. No… Please… Don’t… Go.
.
Ebinoluwa ➡ Please ma.. Don’t go.. The police can’t save us.. We should run away while we still have the chance.

Kemi ➡ Don’t worry.. Just stay here I’ll be back.

Despite our pleads, she locked us up and took off to God knows where, Shortly after her departure, there was a loud short scream and I knew in that moment, it was her. I quickly teleported out of the room and ran to where the Mrs Kemi was but by the time I arrived there, it was already too late.
Here in front of me was Mrs. Kemi in her own pool of blood, her heart was missing and her legs were broken.. I felt a cold chill in my body as I saw her in that uncomfortable state, I sensed that she was still alive so I rushed to her side.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Ma..

Kemi ➡ (gasping)…. Ebi…no…luwa.. I’m.. I’m.. sor…ry… Ple..please… take Morenike… and.. and.. (Coughs blood)… and run..

Ebinoluwa ➡ Please ma.. Don’t say that.. You can make it.

Kemi ➡ No.. I… won’t.. I’m… done.. for.. Please… If your… mother.. is…. still… alive…tell…her…to….take… of…. Morenike… as… one…. of… her… own… Please. (Crying)

Ebinoluwa ➡ I will ma.. I will.
.
Kemi ➡ (coughs blood)… thank… you.. Thank.. you… (closes her eyes).
.
After that, Kemi was finally dead and in that moment an Altros came besides her and s----d out her soul before leaving again.. I didn’t attack it cause it was just doing it’s Job.
Amidst tears, I went back to Morenike to check on her, and as soon as I got into the room, I saw 2 demons with multiple heads fighting with other, in that moment, I spotted Morenike hiding under her bed in fright, she was just shaking with immense fear and crying silently.
Infuriated with contempt and hate, I unleashed a wind magic on the 2 demons by increasing the air in their body, their bodies began to expand in size growing bigger and bigger like a balloon until they exploded into tiny pieces.
After that, I rushed to Morenike’s place and pulled her out of the bed, it took me a while before I pulled her out because she was struggling really hard.

Morenike ➡ (screaming and stammering) L-LE-LET…. M-ME…. G-G-GO.

Ebinoluwa ➡ CALM DOWN JOR… it’s me, Ebinoluwa.
.
It was when she heard my voice that she stopped struggling and allowed me to drag her out, she hugged me tightly and asked about her mother.

Morenike ➡ Where… is… my.. Mother?
.
Ebinoluwa ➡ she’s… She’s… She’s dead.
.
Morenike ➡ (crying profusely)
.
Ebinoluwa ➡ Morenike.. Listen..listen to me.. We have to go now.. We have to go.

Morenike ➡ (crying) I… want.. my… mother.
.
Ebinoluwa ➡ She’s….not…coming…back. She’s gone.. Right now all you have is me.. We have to leave now.

Morenike ➡ (crying) No.. I…won’t… I won’t.

OHH… Why do I have to put up with this? doesn’t she hear what I’ve been saying? Her parents are dead and I’m the only one she can rely on for survival.. Although, I felt sorry for her, it’s really an awful thing to witness your parent’s death at this age. So before we could get surrounded by more demons, I put her to sleep with my magic to ease my burden but before I could leave the house, I saw a picture of Morenike and her parents together, it was a picture frame, so I took it with me and then teleported with her to Aunt Jezebel’s house.

The Devil now has the upper hand and now he’s assembling his army to strike once more. After The Supreme Witch brought me to Aunt Jezebel’s house, she went back to Ibadan claiming she had something’s to take care of.
After her departure, I went around the house looking for my wife, Moments later, I found Christen in Aunt Jezebel’s guest room, she was laying in bed quietly not even noticing my presence, as I called out her name, She sat up instantly staring at me, there was a smile of relief on her face and after that she rushed towards me giving me a slap and a hug.

Christen ➡ YOU FOOL (slaps and hugs Riley)

Riley ➡ Ouch! Was that necessary?

Christen ➡ How did you get here?

Riley ➡ Orisaye brought me here.. Where’s your Aunt?
.
Christen ➡ Never mind that… I’m glad you’re okay… We could have been enjoying each other’s company in our bedroom but you chose your stupid meeting.

Riley ➡ I’m sorry… That won’t happen again.. I was told that Amon visited you? I hope he hasn’t done anything to you or the baby?

Christen ➡ No… He just wants me to be his and I said no. Now he wants me dead.

Riley ➡ Don’t mind him.. The Lord will protect us. Where’s Ebinoluwa?

Christen ➡ That’s what I’ve been worried about.. I haven’t heard from her.

Riley ➡ God! We have to find her.

In that moment, Rose walked into the room laughing hysterically, her hair was rough and her clothes were a little bit squeezed. Lionel too walked in right after her scratching his head like a guilty school boy that had did something wrong.

Rose ➡ (laughing) Little sister.. You’re here as well? Hello RILEY!

Christen ➡ Rose, are you alright?
.
Rose ➡ I’m fine.. I just found out that I’m… Excuse me.

Rose instantly disappeared leaving the 3 of us in the room, after a while she came back into the room wiping her mouth.

Lionel ➡ Rose.. Calm down.
.
Rose ➡ SHUT UP!!

Riley ➡ What’s going on with the 2 of you? Did something happen?

Rose ➡ Unfortunately yes… I’m p… I’m..

Lionel ➡ She’s pregnant.

Riley/Christen ➡ WHAT!?

Rose ➡ Curses!

Christen ➡ Congratulations sister.. I’m happy for you.

Rose ➡ Well.. I’m not.

RILEY ➡ Why??

Rose ➡ I don’t want to be a mother.. Not yet.

Lionel ➡ Well, what’s done is done.. You just have to accept it.

Rose ➡ Lio! Don’t piss me off. SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

Christen ➡ Come on Rose.. This is good news. Just be happy.

Rose ➡ Whatever.. Let’s drop this pregnancy talk and let’s focus on the matter at hand. We have a war to fight!

Christen ➡ War?

Rose ➡ (mimicking christen) War?… Are you blind? Didn’t you see what’s going on?…Demons now rule Ibadan and if something is not done, they will rule the whole country.

Riley ➡ What do you suggest we do?

Rose ➡ We attack!

(CHRISTEN) 🔯
Hearing my sister’s ridiculous outburst about attacking Amon and his demons made me twitch uncomfortably. I don’t doubt the fact Rose is strong but this time around things won’t go the way she expects cause Amon’s magic power has skyrocketed.

Christen ➡ I don’t think that’s a good idea.

Rose ➡ What?

Christen ➡ Amon is powered up like crazy.. I was lucky to escape with my life.

RILEY ➡ How did he power up?
.
Christen ➡ There was a Red Gem with him. As he attacked me, the gem glowed boosting his powers.

RILEY ➡ Gem??… Could it be the DEVIL’S EYE?

Rose ➡ It is. The B-stard finally possesses it.
.
RILEY ➡ Well, that’s like déjà vu… It’s just like Lucas.

Christen ➡ No.. It’s not.. Amon’s magic is stronger and darker than Lucas.

Rose. ➡ All the same.. We will defeat him.

Lionel ➡ What do you mean “WE”?

Rose. ➡ 😒 I wasn’t talking to you.

Christen ➡ If you’re suggesting the 3 of us then you must be out of your mind.

Rose ➡ I never said the 3 of us. Oliver, Esther and every other supernatural being in the hangout will join us. I just sent Nancy to spread the word around, she should be here any minute with our own small army.

RILEY ➡ Hold on.. Christen is pregnant and so are you.. You both can’t possibly think of fighting in this war.

Rose ➡ I’m fine and so is your wife.
.
RILEY ➡ NO! SHE’S NOT.

Christen ➡ Honey..

RILEY ➡ NO…. I forbid you to join this fight.. I won’t let happen.

Rose ➡ (laughing) See this man o… Since when did you have the power to forbid my sister to do anything.

Christen ➡ He’s my husband, Sister! I’ll do what he wants.

Rose ➡ 😒…. This is absolute nonsense… We’re about to have a great battle and you want to sit this one out.

Lionel ➡ You should sit this one out too.. It’s too dangerous.

Rose ➡ LIO.. for last time… SHUT UP!

Lionel ➡ NO.. You listen and shut up! Do you think this is a game.. I can’t lose you and the baby.. I won’t let bad luck strike me twice..

Tension rose up between Rose and Lionel as they stared into each other’s eyes. Normally, Rose would massacre or strike anyone dead for talking to her like that but for some reason, she was hesitating really hard not to smash Lionel and as for the latter, He was really scared cause he knew what my sister was capable of but he stood his ground and held onto his courage.
Before anything could happen, Ebinoluwa suddenly appeared in our midst with her unconscious friend in hand.

Christen ➡ Ebinoluwa…

Ebinoluwa ➡ Mother..

RILEY ➡ Adupe lowo Olorun… (Thank God)…. Ebinoluwa.

Christen ➡ Thank goodness you’re safe… What happened to your friend? Where are her parents?

Ebinoluwa ➡… They’re gone.
.
Lionel ➡ Jesus Christ..
.
Ebinoluwa ➡ (sad) I told…. I told them to leave the house.. But.. They didn’t listen.

Rose ➡ Serves them right.
.
Christen ➡ ROSE!!!

RILEY ➡ Don’t listen to your Aunt.. Fate definitely had a hand in this..

Rose ➡ What are you going to do with the little insect?

RILEY ➡ We’ll raise her.
.
Christen ➡ What?
.
RILEY ➡ Come on… She has no one.. We’re not even sure if her relatives are alive.. If there’s any chance they’re alive, we’ll take her to them but if they’re not.. We’ll keep her, after all, she and Ebinoluwa are close.

Christen ➡ RILEY.. She’s human. It’s not like I’m objecting but how can she cope with us?

Ebinoluwa ➡ She can. She knows I’m a witch. Her mother pleaded with me on her last breath that we should take Morenike in.

Christen ➡ (sighs) Okay.. We’ll take her.. Poor child. What an unpleasant age to lose her parents.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Who did this? Whoever they are.. They must pay.

Rose ➡ Oh Ebi… I love that fire in your eyes.. Don’t worry.. He will pay dearly.

I was Infuriated when Rose suggested that my only daughter should be as a weapon, There was no way in hell I was going to allow that, I looked at RILEY hoping he would say something but his mind was far away from what was currently happening.

Christen ➡ RILEY!!?

RILEY ➡ What?

Christen ➡ Say something!!! Your daughter is about to be used as a weapon.. You can’t just stand there and do nothing.

RILEY ➡ I’m thinking..

Christen ➡ Of what?

Rose ➡ Running away (laughs)

RILEY ➡ I’ve got it..

Christen ➡ What??

RILEY ➡ I know how we can defeat Amon.

Rose ➡ Really? With what? Your cowardice (laughs)

Christen ➡ Rose.. Please stop, this isn’t the time to be funny.

RILEY ➡ Christen do you know how we stopped Lucas?

Christen ➡ RILEY.. not this again.

RILEY ➡ Listen to me.. Amon uses the gem to boost his powers right?

Christen ➡ Yes.. So?
.
RILEY ➡ Without his powers that gem won’t be of any use to him.

Rose ➡ So what are you saying?

Ebinoluwa ➡ We lock his powers using the Trinity Seal.

Riley ➡ Brilliant Ebi.. Absolutely Brilliant.

Rose ➡ Hold on.. We lock his powers and then what?

RILEY ➡ He’ll be powerless and you guys can destroy him with ease.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Then we destroy the gem.
.
RILEY ➡ Why? Let’s just take it back to council for safe keeping.

Ebinoluwa ➡ No.. That gem has already caused enough trouble.. It’s best if it’s destroyed once and for all.

Rose ➡ I agree with the little one. Let’s destroy it.

RILEY ➡ Okay.. What can we destroy it with?

Ebinoluwa ➡ Magic.

Rose ➡ Good! Now that we have a plan.. It’s time we execute it.

Christen ➡ That’s insane.. We can’t.

In that moment, Nancy barged into the room with a bottle of wine in her hands, She was obviously wasted but she looked sober and strong on her feet.

Nancy ➡ (laughs) Rose..

Rose ➡ My.. That didn’t take long. What did you say to them?

Nancy ➡ Your name (laughs)

Rose ➡ Alright everyone… Get ready.. War is coming. (Laughs)

Here in the Witches Realm, Most of the prominent Witches/Wizards have gathered in the council hall to discuss on how to solve the issue.
After listening to so many arguments, Aunt Jezebel stands up and gives her own opinion about the matter.

Jezebel ➡ Greetings ladies and Gentlemen and Esteemed council members.. I have a something to say.

Orisaye ➡ Speak!
.
Jezebel ➡ It’s been 24 hours now since Ibadan has been ransacked by demons and we all know who the criminal is.. But before I give my own answer, we just first handle our other problem which is maintain the law of nature.
We cannot allow these demons to get outside Ibadan.. We must confined and deal with them here.

Orisaye ➡ So what are you suggesting?

Jezebel ➡ I suggest we use the Pyramid barrier to restrict anyone from going in and out of ibadan.. It’s the strongest barrier and can withstand a thousand drops of nuclear and any magic attack.

WC1 ➡ I agree but what about the city?? Travelers might see smoke rising from the city.
.
Jezebel ➡ It’s simple.. An illusion spell should fool their sights… We’ll just cast a strong illusion spell around the city making it look as if everything is normal.

Orisaye ➡ Nice suggestion Jezebel but all that has already been handled, now tell us about your plan.

Before Aunt Jezebel could say anything, A Young wizard rushes into the council hall and interrupts the meeting.

Wizard ➡ YOUR EMINENCE!!

Orisaye ➡ What’s the meaning of this rudeness?

Wizard ➡ Sorry your eminence.. But I have something to tell you.

Wizard ➡ The war against Amon has been done…

Council members ➡ WHAT?? Who led the charge.

Wizard ➡ Rose..

Orisaye ➡ What’s the outcome?

Wizard ➡ They won..But at a cost.

The Wizard keeps quiet for a while before looking at Orisaye’s eyes, he still hesitates looking gloomy. Realizing that the wizard is hiding something, The Supreme Witch orders him to speak.

Orisaye ➡ Out with it.. What happened?
.
Wizard ➡ Your eminence.. The battle was won at a cost…
.
WC2 ➡ Say it out… You’re wasting our time.
.
Wizard ➡ The human, Christen’s human husband..is dead.
